i had a problem with mdma and i ended up taking a year long break now Every time i take mdma now i end up not having any energy to move and fall asleep 2hrs after taking it does this happen to anyone else

I have unfortunate news: What you're taking is probably not MDMA, or you're taking such a light dose that it's not reaching any level of recreational value. Your best bet is to find a different source in a few weeks.

Yea man, get a test kit and test your stuff bro. What you're taking could be anything :\

I've felt so relaxed like I thought I could sleep but obviously I couldn't and I've heard people say what you were saying before. What you are taking can't be MDMA or anything in thr Amphetemine family for that matter. The other people I've talked to had no MDMA like effects.

*YAWN*

No, seriously...

Serotonin has an amazing effect upon sleep.
This is discussed every year around Thanksgiving - because high tryptophan levels in turkey cause unexpected drowsiness, across the USA at least.

I feel the need to share again.
During the last year I have noticed a rather startling effect of the recovery process.
Around month 6 I decided to stop taking Piractem, which I had cycled on and OFF of at least four times.
For the first week I experienced rather severe head-pressure and what some might call 'brain zaps'.

I would more aptly described this as PRESSURE behind the face.
And it didn't stay in one place.
It rolled around, especially behind the eyes.
Try to picture Mr. Smith at the very end of The Matrix - when Neo is about to tear him apart from the inside.
That's right - I felt like the pressure behind my face might actually rupture an eyeball!

This carried on for a few days.
While it was happening I was having 'hot flashes' but in general I felt VERY good.
That is to say, when the severe pain was not occurring...and the fear of stroke along with it...
it felt as if something in my head was working BETTER than before.

Despite the withdrawal from the effects of Piracetam, I somehow felt more whole, more complete.
My higher emotional pathways were firing that week. I welcomed the pain.

The severe pain and ripping pressure behind my face subsided within days.
But during the next two months - I experienced a VERY odd phenomena.

I would feel TIRED, very suddenly.
This would occur often in the hours after a meal, like a diabetic.
More than just sleepy - this was a type of 'tired' that overtook me.

It encompassed me, including at work!
I literally fell asleep sitting upright in my chair.

It would be more accurate to say that I never REALLY fell asleep...
Rather, I sleep-walked...
But reliably, for weeks in a row.
For HOURS PER DAY.

Hmm...

I felt like a zombie at times, but I must say it was rather relaxing.
It caused me to GIVE IN to the heavy feeling of sleep.
I welcomed it - because one of the HALLMARK symptoms of MDMA recovery is LACK OF REM SLEEP.

And for the first six months, I can honestly say that my REM sleep was compromised.
I would sleep for up to 14 hours at a time, without feeling rested afterwards!
I would wake up feeling just as desperate as when I feel asleep.
At least at some points.

Now, I can really say that the 'narcoletpic' period is past, and I have been enjoying rather DEEP REM sleep for many months.

But I will never forget the over-powering effects of the serotonin flooding into my brain.
I welcomed the calm...

And you, sir, should interpret the very ODD effect of feeling tired on MDMA as a sign that you are still recovering!
There were times when COFFEE would make me pass out, just because it made my intestines move.
And that is the real purpose of serotonin.

It just so happens that it influences MANY brain functions, especially SLEEP.

^ is just me or does every single post you seem to make is about how bad your recovery from MDMA is? And then you go on to list a bunch crazy symptoms and how horrible they are for you.....it gets kinda annoying after a while.

^ Yes, its just you 'bigsherm'.

Ok, maybe not.
But you are certainly not the first person to be annoyed with my presence.
You are one of the few to tell me to 'fuck off', though.
You have to put more effort into than that...

This particular post is one of the lighter and more honest posts I have made.
It is also quite on point.

What gives YOU the right to complain about my contribution to a thread where an OP is getting VERY tired at a time that most people are peaking?

In fact, it would seem that you are following me around.
I'm waiting on Socal to pop up any moment.

I know full well that MOST readers will skip on past this thread.
They will either chose not to read it, or they will fail to see any significance in one person's claim to feel SO tired while rolling that they fall asleep.

I simply refuse to let it pass by without mentioning that POSTS LIKE THIS are signs of LASTING NEURO-ENDOCRINE changes to MDMA.

If it is so 'annoying' just keep sherming and stay out of threads like these.
Easy.

This carried on for a few days.

That is to say, when the severe pain was not occurring...and the fear of stroke along with it...

What you're describing sounds like an episode of panic attacks.

Hot flashes, unexplainable fear of death, sense of impending doom. Many different things can trigger panic episodes. Not getting proper rest/nutrition is one of them.

I am far too familiar with the dopamine imbalance combined with endocrine malfunction.
That is the real cause of 'panic attacks' in recovering MDMA users.
The HPA axis is not working properly and dopamine builds up in the limbic system!

The symptoms I describe in this thread were nothing like that.
In fact, I am certain that the dopamine was finding its way to the cortex.
The 'hot flashes' were VERY nice to feel, because my body felt numb for all 6 months before this.

A few times in the first six months, taking Piracetam gave me these nice bodily sensations - but only for the first day or two taking it. The rest of the time my skin was quite unstimulated. I would have said - "I don't exist all the way to the surface of the skin anymore."

But when I finally stopped taking the Piracetam, something happened.
Blood vessels in my brain were definitely being re-arranged...hence the ripping pressure behind my face.

While I was VERY concerned about the possibility of a stroke, I was NOT feeling the anxiety I had before.
No - it felt like my higher brain was thinking MUCH more clearly.
I would even say that there was a DIRECT correlation between the amount of pain behind my face and the clarity of thought. I should also mention that my eyesight became a LOT more acute; colors brightened up considerably.
Those days also saw the FIRST major increase in libido since it all began.
I am positive that dopamine was reaching its target.

The hot flashes were quite welcome, and I still get them now.
And I still like them. I also have pleasurable sensations running all over my body at random times.
Consider the tactile sensations and skin flushing that occurs while rolling...
Many of the effects of rolling are actually mirrored in the recovery process, just very slowly.
Apparently the effects on the skin is no exception.

There was nothing like 'panic' happening, at all.
In the weeks that followed I was TOO relaxed, hence the 'sleep walking'.
I literally felt like I was on the verge of dreaming, for about 2 hours per day.
I was glad to trade the anxiety for the sleepiness.
It was a nice relief.

I don't want to jump on the band wagon, but just because you got negative symptoms doesn't mean every MDMA user everywhere will.
If you respect the drug you will be fine atleast 99 out of 100 times.
I know people that abused the fuck out of it, as in using 2-3 times a week, for almost a year, and they have made pretty much complete recovery's.
And that is like EXTREME abuse.
I would never recommend that somebody do this obviously, but I feel like your exaggerating the dangers of legitimate MDxx use.
The original poster said this was coming back after a year long break, so why would he be getting abuse symptoms from one use after a years time away?

People sometimes forget just how powerful the mind is.
I had a friend that was adamant about side effects like you.
he took LSD for his first time without doing any research (doesn't this stuff stay in your spine? Wont I get flashbacks? yada yada yada.).
He loved it, and decided to do some research of his own so he could continue to safely use this wonderful substance.
Suddenly he is telling me about all these symptoms he 'has', which were described on various websites.
Some of it was even physical pain just like you described.
So I sat down with him and we did some more research on legitimate sites like erowid, we talked it out, and after a few days decided maybe he was exaggerating a bit.
I even took him to a doctor (he insisted, and because I am his friend I begrudgingly went along with him) who told him he was fine, but that psychedelics are dangerous and should be avoided (8).
After calming down his post drug anxiety, he wasn't feeling any of the negative 'side effects' that felt so real a week ago.
It's kind of like how people have been given sugar pills and used the placebo effect to unwittingly ease their pain.

Now he trips with me regularly and has never complained about so much as a headache from lsd, or any of the other drugs he was introduced too.

It's difficult to say at a distance what the problem is. Possibly you are not getting mdma, but it's also possible that the dose of mdma you're using is simply too high for you.
My wife is very sensitive to large doses of mdma and simply goes to sleep if she takes more than 100 mg.

I agree with ProxxyLinx. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac (was a lot worse when I was younger) and I always read everything I can find about a drug I want to try which prepares me but could also really scare me as well. And knowing all the things that can happen, all the signs and symptoms, makes you start to think your experiencing it sometimes.
There were countless times when I was young when I'd wake up my mom in the middle of the night because I was sure I had cancer from all the "symptoms" I was experiencing :P

And I 100% agree with respecting the drug, there's only been one time when I did more than I should've in a night and I was lucky not to experience anything to severe except a few days of depression. Other than that, I try to space it out and only do one pill a night with the exception of the occasional special event, which in that case I'll only pop one more.

Thanks for the help i dont want to swear off mdma next time ill get it from a different source and see where that takes me
