He's talking about using the tube to chase something off foil- you have your drug (heroin, say) on the foil, you heat it from underneath, and use the tube to suck in the vapour. The plastic doesn't get hot.

It seems pretty nasty to smoke off of aluminum foil, to me, though I did so several times when I was beginning my smoking career. I would not recommend it to anyone, however.

if you are interested, you should do some further reading on that mcdonalds case. it was a very polarising case and many people - on each side of the discussion - had trouble seeing it from the others' point of view.

it's a really instructive case which taught me, if anything, that one's initial reaction based on limited knowledge could change by learning more about the case - i.e. things are often different as they first appear.

I went from one extreme "what a dumb lady," to a bit more center on the other side.
