Just out of interest, which medicines are more effective than Opiates for pain?If you're scripted a medication for pain relief and it's not cutting it without having to exceed Rx'd doses, IMHO you need to speak to your doctor about it. What type of pain is it for? Do you have a prior tollerance to opiates? There are other classes of medication that are more effective for many types of pain, especially if you are already opiate tolerant.

Nothing! Its all a conspiracy! Lol but for real I know people think Cymbalta and Tylenol will help but if you send me home in severe pain with a bottle of tramadol you might get hit by the karma train. Opioids are not ideal for all types of pain but unfortunately there are no real options for various types of severe pain other than opioids...its like NSAIDs/Tylenol and then this giant gap between that doctors always try and fill with BS SNRI's and muscle relaxants which in honesty do help allot but never exceed the raw analgesic ability of an opioid...I seriously get pissed when doctors argue about this...my doctor tried to say Tramadol was "Better than OxyContin or Dilaudid"....I asked what she would request for her upcoming back surgery and the argument ended. I get the risk of abuse but honestly you can't take someones life away for fear of addiction...Just out of interest, which medicines are more effective than Opiates for pain?
