Came here via google.
I'm a brit with long term medical issues requiring pain relief and then treatment for depression due to loss of mobility\life style.
Firstly Oxycodone, I'm perscribed 160mg of this daily, taken in 4x (2x20mg) doses. The brand is "Oxynorm" made by Napp. I also have Oxycotin, but these are 80mg, although I no longer take this after I had an unexplained siezure 6 months ago.
I've not read every post in the thread in detail, what made me post was a user stating Benzo's are so much harder to quit than the opiates. I've taken both for a long time, and there is a reason we have "opiode receptors" and not "Benzo Receptors", what reason I have no idea, but I'm sure there is one. Oxycodone, or any opiate is pure evil, I have now managed to quit taking it, but not before it almost killed me. The urge to take it is so strong when you quit you can't tell the differance between the need for oxy and the need for food or water. I went 6 days without food before I collapsed..... I was given it due to dire need, if anyone out there even want's to consider taking it as a social drug.. well, I was going to say you deserve what you will inevitably get, but actually no one deserves that.. for fucks sake stay clear of it. Just because it's legal, comes in a pretty box.. doesnt make it anyless dangerous than a gel cap bought on the streets.
But to my original point. Benzo's? jesus not even in the same ball park.. which is why I guess they aint sold on the streets the same as opiates. Quiting the Xanax made me sad, quiting the oxy, well as i said, almost killed me.
No offence ment to anyone - just having one of those moments. Sat in pain, with boxes of "Oxynorm" i googled it.. looking for support i guess.. but anyways..
Kind Regards,
Dave
