Opioids Oxy OP's: 100% dissolved BUT still extended release? is this possible?

Q: Can the new Oxy OP's be 100% dissolved for oral ROA, but still be extended release?

"Tom" crushes an 80mg OP, mixes a packet of "Emergen-C" w/ 2-3 oz's of warm water, then mixes the OP powder into the Emergen-C / H20 solution. W/in 1 hour, ALL of the Oxy OP particles are dissolved and Tom seemingly has bypassed the time release mechanism of the OP pills....
BUT, Tom recently has been taking 90mg's of IR oxycodone ( Three 30mg Roxi's per dose) and has noticed a HUGE difference in effects between the Roxi's and the OP's. (He has accounted for the 90mg v. 80mg difference, the amount and type of food previously ingested, he ONLY swallows his doses, and has considered all (or maybe not all?) relevant variables)

The IR Roxi's give him the classic euphoric, energetic oxy buzz while the OP's produce significantly more sedation and are not nearly as euphoric.

WHY IS THERE ANY DIFFERENCE???

Assuming all other variables are equal, the only answer Tom and I can think of, is that the Oxy OP's are still being time released despite the fact that the pills are completely dissolved and in solution when consumed....

----> Is it possible for the OP's to be dissolved in liquid and still retain their extended release mechanism?

All comments are welcomed

Does anyone have experience w/ this phenomena? I have a couple theories:

1) The OPs' time-release mechanism is bypassed by dissolving the pills in the "Emergen-C" solution, BUT, the solution is TOO acidic and is destroying some of the oxycodone, or is somehow altering it. The Ph has never been tested, but drinking a few ounces of the solution will leave one's mouth feeling sore/irritated.---it feels similar to when someone eats a lot of sour candy but stronger....

2) The time-release mechanism is so tamper proof, that even when the pill is dissolved the oxycodone is still attached to / not free from, the substance(s) responsible for the time-release function.

Anyone with any tyoe of comments, thoughts, responses, etc... Are welcomed

I personally dont think 1 hour is long enough to completely destroy Oxycontin's new time release formula.I would try maybe 12-24 hours for best results.

I recently had some Canadian 200 mg SR tramadol pills, and they are rock hard, its not even really a powder inside, just a solid pill, supposed to be a 24 hr time release.I put them in a glass of 7 up left it in the fridge for a day and that beat the time release for those....And they're one of the most complex/hard to break for injection/plugging ER formulations I've come across (Dont know why,its just tramadol)

Bingo, that's it. The slower absorbtion of the OP pills = less euphoria. You can try soaking them overnight in Emergen-C to help extraction, or read up on other threads on this forum about OP extraction.

Oxycodone is reasonably stable in acid and shouldn't degrade.

It could also be a possibility (if your pills aren't pharmacy direct) that you're getting fake OP's with some other ingredient. They do exist but are a rarity.

Possibly. Did he notice a difference in duration between the two?

Did you consider tolerance and even setting?

Who's Tom?

People have always found there to be a difference between high doses of IR and CR oxycodone. Some amount of time release mechanism staying intact is the likely culprit, though it isn't nearly as effective as it would have been completely intact.

You would think fake OC's would be extremely popular right now.Do you think people would actually waste their time faking such a shitty undesirable pill?

It's like making fake MS Contin that still gel.

Anyways, maybe it does somehow attach to the time release even when in solution, maybe try using a little less acid, and a little more water and give plugging a go?

The pills are from pharmacy so def not fakes. Tolerance not an issue as he has taken the Roxi's w/in 24 hours before/after the OP's, sometimes the same day, and setting/environment is always the same.

Also, the dissolved OP solution is never thick, gooey, gel-like or anything similar that would cause one to suspect the time release compound(s) have just been dissolved but have not actually been destroyed.

I guess allowing the solution to sit longer is the best option, BUT if the pill has been dissolved already I don't see how waiting a few more hours b4 drinking it would do anything

although extremely rare, it is possible for pharmacies to get fake pills as well, but again this is EXTREMELY RARE, as to the problem you are asking, it sounds like the time release hasn't been fully broken down. HOWEVER from my personal experience, when the original oc 80s were still around I found that IVing 80mg of roxies was a stronger high then one oc 80, and never really understood why. Also I've noticed that the M's and V's give a way better IV high then the A's or the K's (k are the worst) not sure how that translates into eating them but figured i'd give my experience anyways.

The pills are definately legit, comes straight from the pharmacy, definitely contain a large amount of a strong opiate (oxycodone), all pills are identical to each other and from month--month, etc...SO, let's just assume they are real (and they are!)...
As far as the different types of Roxi's giving diff effects, that I would say is likely due to the differences btwn name brand v. Generic & the various generics v.each other. I know the FDA allows generic drugs to differ from the original name brand drugs in terms of amount of drug in a pill by a certain percentage--what percentage IDK, but basically its OK for generic Roxi's to have a few more or a few less mg's than the brand name stuff

but basically its OK for generic Roxi's to have a few more or a few less mg's than the brand name stuff

this cant be true as it would mean false advertising - if it says 30mg of oxy then it should have 30mg of oxy, no matter who makes it. if it has a little less then it should say for ex 28mg otherwise there would be lawsuits out the ass for the generic companies.

I agree it sounds crazy, but its not that companies intentionally are off by a few mg's, its just that they are allowed to be off by a few mg's ( or whatever amount, its a percentage)...I could have misunderstood tho, and it could be that the BA percentage or peak plasma concentrations, etc... Could be off a little
