outline for social forum - draft

sweet as, I dont have any problem with that.
finn fer either social and/or meetups
sunflower fer meetups
mikeysammy fer social (if its ok with you guys, he has been posting the most quality on this board for ages now)
its not my choice tho
smile.gif
just my H/O
also daq, the reason i posted that here was because of the bitch fights that were happening, and perhaps the person who insisted on sending me abusive emails could have a quick read of it. Just cos its a social forum doesnt mean things cant be taken seriously!!

Thanks for the support guys

As I said in the other thread, I'd love to be a moderator. Soooooo, if the job's there I'd be happy to do it. In social, meetups or both.
smile.gif

No offence boys but Sunflower's right, we really do need some grrly energy
smile.gif

Sunflower how about it? Girl ... yep, not from Melbourne..... yep, passionate about Bluelight.... yep, witty, smart and a sense of humour..... yep. She has my vote.
I think MikeySammy would do a brilliant job
too. I love reading his posts. Informative, considered and meaningful (well most of the time anyway

)
So there, that's what I think.
Finn

everyone decides.
when it's clear who it is that is wanted by most that feel like expressing their opinion... then its done. If its between a few, Horse and Tars will decide between the 2/3.
Personally I don't much care, cos I'm not in here much. Just so long as its not me
smile.gif
(Thanks anyway Morphe)
I think the reason there are so many Melbourne moderators is that there are so many Melbourne bluelighters. Purely by statistics and... when you vote for moderator you're going to vote to vote for someone you know so that you know they'll do good yeah? By that I mean have read heaps of there posts (by reading threads relevant to you or your city), or know them personally (via meetups) So most votes are likely to be for Melbourners.
This probably doesn't play a big part, it more just statistics.

Can we not turn this into a popularity contest either please - the new moderators should be voted based on merit and not because we know them. I have never met Finn but having kept an eye on her posting style and the passion she has exhibited towards the Bluelight stall I think she would a fine choice - based on her merits.
Lets all keep this in mind and maybe we can avoid a popularity contest that is not fair on the people invloved - thank you

Careful with that axe Eugene....

Yeh i agree. If it was turned into a popularity contest and only the most popular bluelighters got the high positions, id have to take up an admin spot alongside johnboy ....and im just way too lazy for anything that involves work!...
wink.gif

Finn and Sunflower and MIkeySammy for sure. I actually didnt even realise finn was a chick*** either. No offense finn!!!
smile.gif
. Hopefully it will just be done quickly without any too much hassle.. IF they are willing and able and there are no objections, (abide by the nike slogan) and Just Do it(moderate them)!
***- Please excuse my use of the word chick above. If it has caused any offense to the female members of the bluelight community i humbly apologize, and please feel free to email me with any complaints, concerns or phone numbers. Thank You for your time

I know MikeySammy would do a good job, judging by Finn's posts she should too, as would Sunflower. I agree with the need for non-Melbourne Moderators, but don't think worthy Melbournites should be overlooked...
But wasn't this thread about the outline for the social forum, not who should become the next mod(s)?

Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with tomato sauce.

I think this social forum should be relatively casual in its attitude.
I mean, anything social should be acceptable, as long as its non-offensive, non-purposely-exclusive, above a certain level of maturity (yes, we got a bit out of hand during the week, but i think some of us, including myself, had to go through this stage of pushing the boundaries and seeing just how far we could take it in this forum) and stays generally along the lines of the original topic of the thread (but we cant be nazis and go YOU HAVE GONE OFF TOPIC - THIS IS YOUR FIRST AND LAST WARNING - DO SO AGAIN AND YOU WILL BE ERASED)

Oh and I also want to suggest that if craptalk is deemed inappropriate, there needs to be one thread set aside for this, where craptalk and comedown dribble is acceptable. the Too much posting.. still thread would be perfect for this.

Yeh i agree tarsarlan the thread has got a little off topic but i think the mod thing is important so once thats sorted out other things will be also. But mikey is right, there really dont have to be any strict guidelines in here, just common sense from people should cover it.

as for as I can see its on topic. This is the beginning of outlines anyway.
What are people waiting for? JB? I think its agreed that Finn will be the new mod here.

"Oh and I also want to suggest that if craptalk is deemed inappropriate, there needs to be one thread
set aside for this, where craptalk and comedown dribble is acceptable"
mikey i think we already have one of those,
I think i mustnt know how hard it is to run bluelight, do we really need more mods?
ohwell what do i know,

Ok I really think guidelines for this forum need to be drawn ASAP.
Some threads are getting out of hand.
I admit, I'm just as guilty as anyone of getting out of hand, especially last week.
But I think the boundary-pushing stage needs to end, guidelines be drawn, mods added, and rules set in place.
Can we please see some action?
I noticed this thread - thats asking peoples opinions on outlines for this social forum - was nearing the bottom of page one. compare it to what else is on top of the list today. (Monday evening 16th Oct, east-coast aus time). I think we can safely say not many more people have serious opinions on this subject, and so I dont think it should be left any longer.

Agreed Mikey
I think it is time that guidlines be set for the forum and they are adhered to. We've all had our fun but it is seriously getting out of hand. I suggest that people put forward their ideas on what should be discussed in this forum so the moderators can write up the guidlines. Also, how ever it is going to be decided, can we please appoint two new moderators to this forum. Heavy traffic on this forum requires regular moderating and it is a hard task for two moderators to be left with. Mr.Horse and Tarsarlan have a top job so far but I think they would not say no to any assistance.
So far the majority have suggested MikeySammy and Finn as moderators - if there are no objections I say you request that they be elected. If people have a problem of another Melbourne Moderator then please voice your suggestions. I would like to see this resovled as quickly as possible.
Lets bring back the discussions that we Aussies have always prided ourselves on and leave the crap to Bluelight Social.
Thank You for your time
Haste

well this is what i think:
  • i dont think colours should be tolerated.
  • and i dont think font size should be tolerated beyond more than like what pilly does with his big "P"
  • bold and italics should be tolerated.
  • small pictures like little smilies are okay.
  • large pictures should be put up for a real reason, or a judgement made by the mods as to whether its appropriate.
  • oh yes, and bullet lists should be tolerated.

Sigh, I don't know what your problem with colours is (and when I your, I mean everyone, not just you MS... It seems I'm the only one who like a bit of colour... you're really not ravers are you? *grumble*) but the people have spoken, so unless other people want colours *hopeful look* we won't allow them anymore *grumble*
Now for everyone reading this, please make some contribution, whatever it may be, so that we know how everyone feels...

for fucks sake .... make finn and mikeyS mods, they write excellent posts and more importantly, theyre keen. i mean since no-ones come forward to either object or offer their services, i dont see what the delay is .... grumble grumble ..... note the absence of smiley faces in this message.
