Well now esential workers at my job are required to wear masks. This virus is starting to get real. I love what I do but I am not sure how much longer I can deal with this.
I am almost certain that there are patients that are positive with the covid19 at my work and still the supervisors aren't really doing a damn thing to help the staff on the front lines, like the monitors and the resident advisors.
We should at least get some type of Hazzard pay or something better then.

Isn't it at all possible we just don't agree?

You might not fully understand why we don't agree, but you don't have to too respect it.

At the end of the day, that's the reason I personally dislike so many conspiracy theorists I've met. All I ask from them is that they allow me to have my beliefs and not insist to me that my heads in the sand for disagreeing. And not demand that I constantly have the same arguments about it over and over again.

But more often than not that's apparently too much to ask.

There are exceptions. But on the whole, they're just like religious fanatics. They can't tolerate people who believe differently and only wanna be around the like minded.

It's not arguing against conspiracies that annoys me, I expect and welcome that. In this day and age there's an absolute firehose of disinformation out there, I can only commend the people who have a working "filter" and strive to keep a rational worldview.

The skeptics among us (and those who aren't) should give this study a read, it's really quite stimulating: On the Viability of Conspiratorial Beliefs - it may not be directly COVID related but it is a useful paper wherein mathematical modelling is used to estimate how long a conspiracy will last before discovery. The conclusion they draw is that as more and more people are involved in the conspiracy, even though the likelihood of any one person "cracking" and disclosing the conspiracy is very low, with more people involved and longer concealment times, the likelihood of the conspiracy being discovered approaches certainty. (They actually do some neat modelling to show the unfeasability of e.g. a cancer cure being supressed, or the moon landing being faked, much to the dismay of conspiracy theorists.)

It's one guy and it's just a paper, so obviously it's trivial to ignore it, but it does make you think....


I get a chuckle at some of the doublethink people have. Somehow, COVID-19 is both a total hoax that is causing no mortality, a direct result of 5G "sucking all the oxygen from the air into the radio waves" (no doubt slept through Physics 101 there), and a bioengineered superbug invented by Bill Gates designed to target protestors in Hong Kong and control the global population by either killing them outright, or as a cover to deploy a nasty, nasty vaccine that contains, I don't know, Lilliputan robot hula dancers that clog your pineal gland. I personally don't believe the 5G conspiracy, though I did look at whether it was plausible given what we know about microwave radiation.
I know Bill Gates is a MIC asset who used to have personal hygiene issues and screwed over other microsoft founders but I don't think he is responsible personally for coronavirus.

In fact most of the crap that has gone down is not directly due to the coronavirus, it is due to the global response being a combination of clinical brain death and generalized necrosis.

Our own Reichstag fire has been burning slowly since 9/11. Just like previous generations during the 1930's, we've believed and accepted Big Lies that have made the whole world unrecognizable from what it was only few decades back. From Saddam's WMDs that "justified" destruction in the Middle East, to this moment, where the entire planet is near totalitarian control, has passed in a blink of an eye. I believe that events unfolding now could not have been possible even some years ago - programming wasn't complete yet.

I haven't really been following this thread at all, but I must admit I find it a bit alarming at how quickly the people in power can seemingly get people to submit to what they say without really questioning anything. I recently learned that people in China eat live mice and put bats in their soup. I'll say that I've had some good friends who liked to eat mice right off the ground. Though, they all walk on four legs instead of two (e.g. my cats and my former landlord's dog). Seriously though, I had no clue that there are human beings who eat live mice...... and are dumb enough to think that they won't get sick from doing it. I mean maybe it's all good to eat live mice and bat soup if you're from China, but I have to say it seems a bit dangerous for human stomachs. Like I said, I have some really good friends who ate live mice, two of them love sitting in my lap and the other guy used to bark for me to throw his toy lol. But aside from these guys, I never knew anybody else who used to eat live mice. Not anybody who walks on two legs and is a homo sapien that is. I mean I'd think something would have to be seriously fucking wrong with a human being if they ate live mice and bats, and I'd think that somebody who eats live mice belongs in a mental asylum for life because they're fucking deranged.

But I guess "it's their culture" and all. So, I'm not saying anything against China here. I guess if you're Chinese eating bats and live mice is perfectly normal just like Americans and Europeans eat Chicken or Beef. I mean eating mice is all good if you've got four legs I suppose, but it's horrifying to think that there are human beings in China doing this as we speak.
