Opiate Rage

Thebaine derivtes. Hydrocodone/oxycodone. Someone posted a study on it a few years ago.

Also, a few years ago, someone posted a study on the biggest opiate tolerence ever. i have never been able to find this study again :/ bitch was taking 1.7 liters of fent a day.

i get this alot too, i think like someone else said, you wish you were higher and/or you are coming down and the feeling is slowly leaving you, i get angry sometimes

It is kind of weird thing to happen, especially if you've never had it and you're used to feeling bliss or euphoria, basically feeling that not much could you really piss you off and if it did, you could just shrug your shoulders. That's 99% of the time what happened to me. Then very rarely I'd do several bags (not at once either) and instead of getting high, just start snapping and getting pissed off at the tiniest things. 'Fuck you pencil, you're going to get fucking snapped if you fall off my desk again!'

I'd notice it would happen to me and one of my friends if we got 'high', but not high high, more like some awkward area between normal and high, which would always be frustrating. The opiate probably just potentiates the frustration?

It's more common with oxycodone than with diacetylmorphine IMO.

Anyone know exactly what causes it?
I've noticed this as well. I also tend to get it more frequently when on longer-acting, oral opiates(i.e. methadone, pod tea, etc).

I can be a right grumpy cunt if someone wakes me from my meeting with Morpheus, or wakes me out of my nod.

Before a dose fully kicks in, on the someup, I always get a severe case of motormouth, and start simultaneously typing and chittering away like foamy the squirrel on a caffeine overdose, and the same goes for forums, I type so many posts, although usualy good ones.

Weed is the opposite though, I am autistic, and don't really do social small talk, unless someone has an educated soapbox to stand upon, or has something humorous, or worthwhile to say, weed makes me go uber-autie and I just cannot be ARSED to bother with social niceties, unless I just got a few close friends round, gettting a party on :)

I usually log into the aspies for freedom chatroom, and just while away the time, never a place better for citizen chemistry enthusiasts, goths and fellow autistics, anything goes, from computer science and gaming to ethnopharmacology and psychotropic researchers.

Auties rock, as they say:)

See^ the above, for an accidental account of said motormouth coming into effect, from a bottle of pulmo bailley cough elixir, 40mg morphine sulfate, two cans of wifebeater, soon to add another 40, and have just been smoking
tutti-frutti scented skunk, some fresh Columbian Cubensis aborts fresh from the substrate, and a mug of Amanita muscaria (Fly Agaric) tea :)

Lestat is officially motormouthed up to the fuckingness, as you can see =D

No.

Or I never have while on maintainence. If I did, it was either from something else or I just assumed it was from something else, but I can't recall feeling unreasonably angry after dosing.

Irritation is somewhat common with opiates. It just doesn't happen as often once you've conditioned yourself to love the opiate high and appreciate it. As mentioned, more sedating opioids like heroin are less likely to cause irritability opposed to more stimulating ones like oxycodone.

All you have to do is just try your hardest to relax and overcome your anger. Opiates aren't a wonder drug, they can help change your mindset to being positive, but you need to do some of the work yourself. I've had some bad nights on opiates myself, but I've found that overall opiates have helped lower my aggression.

anyone get rage/irritated whilst on buprenorphine?

I did very very rarely when on higher doses (12mg) but now that im down to 2 - 4mg I never do. Its pretty hard to irritate me due the anti-depressant type effects.

I know its all subjective, but I can be just as irritable one heroin, if not more, than oxycodone. Its only when I didnt get enough heroin to make me feel how I wanted and I know that what I do feel isnt going to last long, though. In general though Im sure what you said is correct.

Just so you guys know, I never felt any aggression on any opiates. Although, seems like my temper may be a bit short on oxy. When someone starts goin on about bullshit, I would be way more likely to say, shut the fuck up, you don't know what your talking about.

I honestly used to get so pissed at the little things that would fuck with my high, just the little insignificant shit, and I'd damn near blow a vein in my forehead. Then I realized being pissy all the time was a waste of my high and my money, and now I just talk myself down if the voices of anger get too uppity... otherwise I don't see the use in taking opiates at all. I take them for the big warm blanket, the dark sunglasses, the indian summer air moving the trees in slow-mo. The fuzzy visions... not the pissy at the drop of a hat tantrums now.

Thats funny, i thought i only got this! I once exploded and attacked my brother on some opanas.

Today I was having soem trouble dissolving my roxicets to plug and nearly punched a hole through my dads table.

Its interesting that other people get this effect from opiates as well.

I attribute it to extreme highs and lows. If you have been an opiate user (abuser) for any length of time, you've at least seen some of your using friends do a 180 as far as attitude goes. I cant ever use when my buddies girl is around, she fuckin throws tantrums everytime she gets high, every fuckin time. I agree with posters that say oxy is the worst. H is close and ive never really seen it with hcodone. I wouldn't really call it rage either, just excessive irritability. peace and be safe, -Spaz-

It's never really rage more like enhanced annoyance.

But if I'm nodding around people that I can't even stand when I'm sober...I just leave. Not worth it.

Wow. It's crazy that this is so common. I also agree that it happens to me mostly once I have developed a tolerance and before I have a full-blown habit. I have never been violent on opiates (by themselves) but I definitely snap at people verbally alot easier.

I agree, happens to me too. Especially when I just took a big shot and didn't get really high. Things tend to easily bother me to the point of me snapping probably because I'm pissed that I'm not high from my dope!

I'll kick your ass if you fuck up my nod.

Sit your ass down and don't talk.

hah, yeah nodding around anyone can get really annoying unless they're quietly feeding me grapes or something else useful

tho if im not fully into a nod, but somewhere in the middle of the high it usually makes for good connection
