Opiate damaged........ I can't use any more, wtf happen?

I've been a junky for a few years and recently I've been IV'ing methadone. I IV'd 300 or so mg's and flipped out. I didn't pass out or anything. But I felt really strange, like I wanted to crawl outa my skin. Now every time I dose even 100mg's I get that feeling and end up in the hospital begging for some kind of benzo. Even a shot of dope did this to me. I've had a monster tolerance for a long time and havent really been hign in months and now I can't even take enough 'done told hold me for a day. I'm alright with very small doses i.e. 20-30 mg's.

I don't know what I did but I definitely fucked something up. I tried waiting a week and then took a small dose of methadone (100mg's) and still the same situation aroused.

So what happen?

Any info appreciated.
 
I don't really know what the deal with your specific situation is, but I do know that IVing methadone is pretty pointless. It has one of the highest (it might be the highest, but I won't say that without knowing for sure) oral bioavailabilities of all of the opiates. Considering that no preperation of methadone is made for IV use, you're pretty much always going to be shooting things that aren't meant to be in your veins.
I can certainly understand the desire to use a needle (when I was using, I'd shoot pretty much anything I could), but in this case it's really more harm than benefit (objectively speaking, of course).

Maybe you knew all that, but if so you didn't indicate it at all in your post. If you do, just disregard this post entirely, I suppose. :\

PS 300mgs of methadone? Christ, you do have a high tolerance. 8o
 
The methadone that I was IV'ing was already in liquid form. I get bottles by Roxane 300mg's per botle 10mg's per ml.
 
i TOLD YO THE PROB DAMNIT ,if youmessed somthin up you would feel "weird" when you ARENT ON ANYTHING,so nothi is messed up but yer perception ....now dont start another thread about this please ,you obviously just want talk about it and not find out why you are doin this ....shakes head
 
I would suggest to stop injecting and to take it orally and se if it stil happens. Hydro chronic dont be a dick, the kids concerned.
 
im not being a dick ,why is it that people look over the most obvious answers ,instead of sayin yea ok ill take what you said into consideration ...its like pssh fuck that ima keep askin just to get 5,000 other reasons and pick the one i like.....


same thing happened to me ,cept with acid ,i took it freaked out ,then everytime i tried to get high ,drunk ,sedated ..or do any drung i freaked out ....same thing here ...my gawd
 
But acid and opiates are no where near the same.

Not only did your post not help, it was barely understandable. That is, at least, if you were trying to express some sort of idea or opinion.
 
you never gave me a answer worth considering. so stfu. you ain't running shit around here, I'm asking this question to experienced seasoned opiate users. Possibly looking for someone who's experienced the same thing. Seems to me that you can at least still get high, so go take that irritability somewhere else mother fucker.

I've been using FOR years and never experienced something like this before. Now all of this sudden I can't use anymore. I've not been high in months, so its not like I got too high and freaked myself out.
 
Im not a doctor or anything but, maybe your opiate receptors are damaged/not working properly. I may be completely wrong because I really don't know shit about how opiates respond with the brain and body, its not my field of knowledge.

Or possibly, any meds or other drugs you have been taking recently are effecting it.
 
now that's the kind of shit i want to get into. but from what i understand you cant damage opiate receptors. I'm not taking any other drugs. I've been using methadone for a couple months but on the occasion of this occurrence I had IV'd 300mg's in under 12 hours. I've taken oral doses larger than that lots of times.
 
also, same thing happens with oral doses, minuscule doses of 100mg's. I know what you're describing hydro, I've experienced the same thing. This is different.
 
It may be possible that your opiate receptors got fried since you abused such high doses for so long, i dont want to scare you or anything though because thats probably not the case at all.

Have you tried not using for a full week and then dosed?

I feel your pain man, even though it hasnt happened to me.

I hope its just a weird spell, and you get floored after you stop for a little.
 
I did try not using for a full week. I felt back to normal while sober. But about 20 minutes after dosing 100mg's I began to feel the strange effects taking place once again, heart racing, anxiety through the roof. Normally I don't feel a tingle from 100mg's but when I dose that amount now I feel way out of whack. I don't know, but I can take very small doses with no ill effects.

I know this may sound real stupid, but i would give yourself a little break and see if your receptors grow back ( You might as well if you just get a horrible feeling off of them now), i think they just need a tad bit of rest from opiates, im not a doctor so i dont know if thats even possible.

I'd already planned on just that. But I'd still like to know exactly what's going on, surly this can't be the first and only case of this happening.
 
i experienced something very similar to this while taking buprenorphine, but it hasnt crossed over to other opiates. my heart also started racing with an intense crawling out of skin feeling. I thought it was a panic attack or acid flashback. (i was up for 4 days took adderal the night before and skin popped an oc 80 prior to taking the suboxone sublingualy. can you say drug induced psychosis?
 
god damn id kill for something like that...imagine how easy it would be to toss a habit lol ;)

damn man i dunno, i think maybe its pyschological, and also the fact that ur IVing shit thats not meant to be IVed...maybe ur in minor WD?
 
You said you didn't use any Methadone or Heroin for over a week before you dosed again? Hmmm... something is telling me, what you experienced was a slight overdose.
I know that when I nearly overdosed from snorting under a cap of fine Heroin (without tolerance), I experienced anxiety, racing heart and felt like I was going to die. None of it was enjoyable, like I had always thought an Opiate overdose would be. I think your tolerance has withered away after that little break you had and you're now taking doses you can't handle.
Breaks will do that to ya, you know? And Methadone, is a strange, strange drug.
Please don't go injecting Methadone in future. It's a syrup, it wasn't designed to be injected either way.
