Olympics - Beijing 2008

Ya, I watched the shit out of these games, too. The 12 hour time delay worked ok for me... american broadcasters have clearly learned some things since the low-rated sydney games about how to get americans to watch stuff on time delay intermixed with live stuff.

Same here... i watched more of these Olympics than any other in past years. I mean... i always watch the Olympics but normally just the Gymnasts and swimming, basketball, along with a few other sports but this year, damn.. i watched so many different sports. I really enjoyed myself the last two weeks.

And the first 3 days of the Olympics got me through some nasty w/d. Watching it kinda helped me keep my mind of the w/d. Thank god i got my refills LOL.

Yup, i wholeheartedly enjoyed these Olympics, it was a great adventure and i plan to do the same with the next Olympics - London 2012. And NBC and the other channels did a rather nice job this year, unlike previous broadcasts.

Also it was awesome chattin' it up with you all during these Olympics. I wonder if we'll all be here with the next Olympics. Of course the thread title will not be "Beijing 2008', it will be "London 2012'... See ya guys next time lol

Good times!!!

I hope the closing is good., I missed the opening but I'm sure i can watch it online or somewhere. Maybe rent it from netflix when it comes available. I heard the opening was excellent.

Well I'm a bit sad that the Olympics is over... but then I was getting over it by the end... and now I'll get a whole heap more work done... as it was only 2 hours behind my normal time zone, a few days there I stayed home to watch... very naughty ;)

Aussies didn't do too badly...

What a fucking amazing dive by Matthew Mitcham in the final of the 10m platform. Just fucking WOW. Stopped the Chinese sweeping the diving gold medals with the highest scoring dive in Olympic History!!

That for me was one of the moments of the games!

this was the first time that I watchd the Olympics everyday that it was aired. I really enjoyed it, sad that its over, it gave us all something to talk about at work

the closing ceremonies were very entertaining, i think i liked this better than opening ceremony.

i thoroughly enjoyed the climax to the women's 100m hurdles. nail biting. with the american champ choking on the second to last hurdle they all upped their game and seeing the aussie and canadian jumping for joy together as they were announced 2nd and 3rd was fantastic!
and then right after that, the aussie girl's interview, she was exhausted and stunned. she was talking like she was really fucking high, but she was just hyperalert and it meant for some really memorable lines. it really looked like she was seriously awaiting a response when she asked the interviewer if it was all real!! :D

I wasn't excited about the games before they started, but ended up watching them everyday. I've never watched the Olympics so much (well, not the summer one anyway) and ended up enjoying it. The twelve hour time difference helped since I was up all night, which meant I could watch lots of events.
