Hi all--- My wife and I have just started rolling again after a hiatus of 6 years. I am 60 years old and my wife is 58. When I was in my late 40s I became a techo DJ and used to hang out with a group of friends (including other DJs) and we would have house parties at each others houses. They were mostly in their mid 20s to early 30s. I always felt a little out of place being much older than they were. Now that I started again, I find myself in the same situation, except now its worse. My new "friends" are in their 20s and 30s, but now I'm 60 and really feel uncomfortable and out of place, not because I feel different, but because I look different (older). I understand the situation.. its the way our society works.. we are kind of age segregated and thats just the way it is.
One of the things I like best about the rolling experience is doing it with others. I know I can do it at home with just my wife... we have done that and it is fun, but I miss the community experience. I would love to have a group of like-minded friends who are in their 40s or older... I'm sure that there are other older people in my area who roll, but I have no idea how to find them. Any suggestions ???
