On a bad note, My computer crashed... and not just a little one, big time.

So... I now have no contact information for any of the DJ's, promoters, or producers I've worked with. Please e-mail me (Justin) at [email protected] so I can get your info. I can't book people I can't contact.

(July 21st) Return of the open decks
9 - 2 = open decks
Thats right, all night from open to close we're having open decks. Sets will be 30 min long. It will be 1st come, 1st serve for all DJ's to sign up for a spot. NO SIGNING IN FOR OTHER DJ's EITHER.

yeh!!! no more fightin', ya hear? Justin (columbuspartier) and friends have created, nurtured, and built a great weekly for this city's underground. i don't care what the beef is - people have gotta stop scrappin inside and outside Nyoh's. if you have a problem, go somewhere else or ask a bouncer for help. people have gotta learn to behave themselves better if we want this night to keep going strong!!!

it was good stuff this past week! it was good to kick it with Jere and meet Harrypotter of SceneOH as well. DJ Paul from Cinci dropped some DOPE house, that kid needs to be up at Bento's with the quickness. Code Blue's set was gorgeous... i'm not a big fan of progressive, but his track selections were epic and sweeping without going overboard into trance territory, and also had some nice funky beats up in there. and what a smooth mixer! def. a true Columbus pro. DJ Majik dropped some filthy electro flavored house, a good 2 hours of it thanks to Impulse pulling a no-show. Nice stuff, with some wicki-wicki scratchin too. He's definately in line to inherit Kid Chaos & Mark Mayhem's throne soon! good times, and good sound as well - i guess Nyoh's did some work on their system after the Dylan show, since all the speakers were actually working. booyaka!

Yes there has been a weekly on wednesdays for a while now but the gentleman who is running it is keeping it low key. And YES Justin has done many things to help out this scene. I applaud his work. I only can wish that more people would come down to the wednesday shows.

lemme clear up a couple things....

Simon, Impulse wasn't a no show... If I forgot to take him off a lineup, my bad. But he got at me in good time and let me know that he wasn't able to spin because of familly obligations.

P.O.W..... What message? I can only check the e-mails sent to [email protected] .... all other e-mails Ryan is checking for me.

Jimmy & Jeff, thank you for the kind words. As far as other weeklys, oh well.

I realize a lot of the DJ's have been shit on for the past few years because of what happened in the scene. But because promoters / DJ's are always willing to undercut others and do things for next to nothing (if not nothing) things won't change antime soon. You all see what happens... someone does a night, and once they try to get paid, or have things run proper, the venues find someone new. Even people who get shit on by certain venues are still doing work with them because they don't think they have a choice. All you need to do is see who's benefitting in the end. All too often it's not the talent. Look at Long St... They pay out thousands of dollars a month to bring in cover bands on the weekends... but for some reason electronic DJ's can't get a guarenteed $20? Even in the short time I've been working with people in the scene, I've seen DJ's work as promoters, then do the same shit they complained about when they were talent. I wish you all luck with whatever projects you take on. And for my friends, you'll always have my support whether I can be there or not. I just hope you all stick to your guns, because if you don't demand respect, the people pulling the strings won't give it to you.
 
well i know that me and my crew will throw our whole support behind NYOH'S and justin's crew
this is the BEST weekly in columbus
no one will take that
the scene is starting to thrive off it
most of the best promoters around are starting to come out to support and network in a positive way

justin i myself thank you for that
its ppl like this that give our scene a good name
