no, $20 with a pack of M&M's.
so technically, depending on which store you buy some M&M's from the admission is $20.33 to $20.75.

before people ask...
this event was going to be in indy @ club therapy, but we decided to move the party to cincinnati for 2 reasons.
1.we can go past 3
2.we don't have to do 21+

beverages for over 21?

and ppl, its 20 bucks bc of frankie bones. But ill go, its techno in the midwest outside of detroit!

is that suppose to be a mollification or merely the fact of the justification?

i'd go, but $3.13 a gallon (sure to be $3.50 by june)? to pay $20-25...? for frankie bones...?

meh.

mind, i got love for my wilhelm and uni-vibe, but when the cost is basically $60 just to attend (all things considered)...

i think its time to remember that this is $.99-a-gallon era 1999. there's more to an event's worth and value than the mere presence of someone who, at some point, played an important role in the sub-culture's history.

but i'm sure everyone involved will do well just off of cincy crowds and the surrounding area.

edit: oh snap! i'll be at gay pride in the T-dot that weekend! w00t!

$20 is more than fair for this event.
take a look at the other events going on in the midwest & what those covers are.
there was a party at this same venue(clockwerk's) with just trevor lamont and all locals and it was $10 & $12.
there's may daze in cleveland, angel alanis is the headliner and its $15 adv. $20@ the door.

we have..
frankie bones
danny the wildchild
myself
& trevor lamont.
plus tons of area dj's.

how is that not worth $20?

I know where half of Indy is going to be that night. 20-25 is too high. 15-20 would be better.

then 1/2 of indy will unfortunately miss a great event.
budget wise $15 wasn't feesible.
as we all know, those days of getting 1,000+ people are long gone.

thanks to the original date conflict courtesy of GSP evol intent had to be nixed...THEN it would've been worth every fuckin penny.

:X :( :| :\

basing one's cover off of the over-inflated covers of other parties is flawed logic.

i understand that frankie's over-inflated price is the root of the problem, but that doesn't take away from the problem.

i'm glad you think $20 is fair for the price. but taking in other costs for people outside of a walking distance to the venue, in today's day and age, it simply is not.... at least for a large number of people.

again, were i living in cincy, it'd answer of this event's relative worth would certainly be answered with a resounding 'yes'.

that's all i'm saying.

if that's the case, then so should be making 2000-era line-ups and compensating with high door cost.

i mean, all of my posturing is theoretical. i hope you do the numbers at $20 to break even and ultimately all i can do is wish you well and lots of luck.

frankie bones is expensive to book for some reason... any party he plays at is at least 20 bucks. Usually heather heart and or adam x is invovled as well though...

Seriously, just the memories that this venue will stir in your head is worth $20. It is unfortunate that gas is so high right now but if you get a car full of people to all chip in, not so unreasonable. When is the last time there was a 3 room, all night party in Indy???? EXACTLY...............

So if you want the ambiance of a true "old school" feeling party, then you're gonna have to spend a little money to get to a place where it exists. If you prefer to stay in town and stand around a club, then to each their own. :|

"basing one's cover off of the over-inflated covers of other parties is flawed logic. "

the cover wasn't based off that, i brought up those examples to back my stance on how i feel $20 is fair.
we set the cover based on the budget and number of people we think we can realistically count on showing up.

"if that's the case, then so should be making 2000-era line-ups and compensating with high door cost."

it is a reunion party, hence the 96/97 style line-up.isn't that the whole point?
the events i currently do in detroit reflect more of where the scene is at these days.

what events do you do in detroit? Have your hand in any afterparties during demf?

currently i am doing a series of events based on video game gens.
so far we did 8-bit & 16-bit. the next one is 32-bit on june 30th with Mike "agent x" Clark.
i don't have any demf afterparty stuff going on. doing an after event for it is uber risky.besides there being a TON of stuff going on,paxahau usually does some sick afterparties that pull mad people.

My point is not referenced to me necessarily. I'm old enough and make enough money to live quite decently, so money for the show and to get their is not an issue as to whether I would go or not(and right now I would say more then likely I would attend this despite my utter hatred for Racistinatti). I'm more speaking to the fact that lowering the prices 5 bucks across the board would probably get you more heads, and might offset the cost of losing that income. Or you could offer some limited pre-sales for $15 dollars, which I would be inclined to buy. I don't care too much about Frankie Bones, despite his well-deserved legend status, but Danny the Wildchild and the strength of the local D.J.'s in Indy and Cincy make it quite a good cross-state line-up. I'm not dissing your party, I just think(and others here apparently agree) that the price is a little high.
