Read the first few posts of this thread recently and it was the first time I'd really heard people talk about being into 'quality electro'. It's became such a dirty word over the past few years and with fairly good reason too. It's penentrated music everywhere from progressive house to trance and R'n'B and I've never been a fan of the cheesy electro sound or 'that' dark period when every DJ there ever was jumped on the bandwagon.

However, I was listening to Anthony Rother - Gott earlier, which I hadn't heard in years and thought it was about time I checked some proper electro out.

And with tunes like that, it's no wonder.

Anybody got any links to their favourite electro sets? Especially like the stuff above if possible!

Just curious, are Wolfgang Gartner or Designer Drugs considered Electro?

Wolfgang mixes primarily electro yes... and I don't listen to Designer Drugs but they seem to be always billed with other electro DJs, so I have to assume they play electro out too.

for 2 of the drexciya related takes on electro- the first being mainly drexciya, the second being more their experimental side projects. it's worth checking out a few of VLR's otehr mixes as well for that matter they are generally pretty good.

Most of Wolfgang Gartner's stuff is electro house, but his entire catalogue is amazin. Definitely some good electroish songs in there.

On slightly different note, does anyone feel the really commercial electro house sounds like circus music? I was in the gym last night and they were playing some really cheezy commercial electro house, I just couldn't get rid of the feeling that I was in a circus or something.
