V8 fans face slab limit at Bathurst 1000

V8 fans will again be limited to one slab of beer a day at this year's Bathurst 1000 car race.

Police will be focusing on reducing alcohol-related crime when petrol heads descend upon Mount Panorama, Bathurst, in NSW's central west, this week.

For the third year running, adult race-goers will be limited to bringing one case (24 cans) of full-strength beer or one block (36 cans) of light or mid-strength beer each day.

Restrictions also apply to one case (24 cans) of pre-mixed drinks a day or one cask of wine up to four litres.

Combinations of the options will not be allowed.

Assistant Commissioner Alan Clarke said police will not tolerate alcohol-fuelled violence.

"This is one of the greatest motorsport events in Australia and for some it is a pilgrimage that they make every year," Mr Clarke said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Police respect people's rights to enjoy the race weekend, but will promptly act when the law is broken."

Police are also urging people travelling to Bathurst to drive safely and closely monitor their speed and fatigue.

The Bathurst 1000 runs from Thursday to Sunday.

I find this rather amusing.
 
Its bloody made the BBC news here.. Everyone is fucking laughing at me at work.. saying oh dear 'ONLY' 24 cans a day, must not be worth going.. lol..

Makes us look pretty hard core that a restriction, means you still get a whole slab, per day..

2. Women are single hence they adore the attention and are really friendly and outgoing in return.

3. Woman gets bf of some sort (regardless of level of seriousness).

4. I am now of no further use for their ego, hence not worth any time or attention.

Conclusion = only befriend women that have bf's or are married.

Haha, a slab is more than enough to have a good day, I can't see too many people complaining about that.

If you really wanted to get around it you could buy ridiculously strong mixers like bulleit bourbon or woodstock blue, as it doesn't specify a strength limit on being allowed a slab of premixed drinks.

I'm just a bit cheesed off at someone I thought I was fairly close and attached to; she shouldn't take her amazing looks and guys swooning around her for granted, because that will all change someday. That's when you find out who is hanging around because they like you versus just (ie only) wanting to fuck your brains out.

I don't think I'm demanding or anything; I just expect some investment in a friendship in return.

They're still looking at the data. I think they'll know in a couple hours whether they've detected water.

It funny because I was expecting to see a big plume, or dust, or something. Nada. It was still cool to watch though.
