I ate out of the trash for like 4 years. It is fucking so legit, man.
Most grocery stores throw away any fruit or vegetable that is bruised, too small, too big, off-color, has been dropped, has a cut or bump in it, etc.
Also cans that are dented, missing labels, etc
tons and tons of baked goods more than a day old.
any and all prepared deli foods, again, more than a day old.
all of the above is totally legit and 100% safe to eat.
You can also go for these dumpster delicacies, although you might get violently ill:
Meat. It is usually thrown out if it is too bloody/ too fatty/ etc. Also, as it gets closer to the expiration date, they will sometimes throw out perfectly good stuff to make way for more. Key here is getting it while it is still cold in the trash.
Prepared deli items. These are generally not so exotic if you stick to vegetarian fare, but find some chicken wings, sushi, chicken cordon bleu, or other common prepared foods, and not only are you in for a tasty treat, you get the thrill of finding out if it was spoiled or not.
Expired Pharmaceuticals. Usually they throw out huge batches of supplements and cheap otc pills like tylenol and whatnot. It is fairly easy to identify what the pills are, and they are usually in trashbags with the bottles they were dumped out of.
Bodybuilding supplements: This is an odd item that you find alot of in the trash. I don't know why. I put it on the sketchy list cuz I wouldn't take this shit normally.
Maybe I will expound on this and title it:
MUVOLUTIONS GUIDE TO EATING FROM THE TRASH and other things you do when you are poor.
No, seriously man, don't deal drugs. No one likes drug dealers and it is too sketchy. You gotta be there for your girl man, not in jail or shot.
If you are mainly good at interacting with people you should think about how your business can be centered around that, and I'm talking more than your typical coffee shop. You need something to set you apart. What is your passion? Art, design, literature??? I would use that to help guide you in thinking up ideas.
