^ Yea, that really is a great book and it's the only book that I've ever purchased.

I bought it the day before I overdosed and ended up reading it a few months down the road after going to rehab.

Yeah, the difference there...RHCP were a really tight rhythmic band that had to be on to sound good.....It wasn't just Kiedis singing, the rhythm had to be dead on for them to sound good, and pretty much all of them, except the drummer, were on and off drug addicts...

Cobain had a little more leeway with a three piece, and the style was looser....Also Dave Gruhl was a dead on bad-ass drummer, which always helps....

Some styles lend themselves to being a little off. Some styles, you have to be "dead on" to put on a good show....

A lot of the really good early metal is like that....It's just too complicated to "wing it" and have it sound good....It all depends...

Playing guitar on smack for me was always fabulous

I always enjoyed playing music high too... the problem was that nobody else enjoyed listening to it when I was too high during my sets.. Hah.

And about some musicians being able to go out and sound great still... yeah, that's always been the case. Cobain, etc.. Layne Staley would be strung the fuck out, high as a kite, and still sing the roof off of whatever venue he was in. Did you see how bad he looked during the 96' AIC Unplugged? He was soooo strung-out.. but even with him forgetting lyrics here and there, he still killed it.

But, if you think these artists sounded good high or could somehow still pull it off... no question they would have been tighter and better sober. They definitely would have lived long enough to put out more then a couple albums...

After reading this I want to shoot some smack and rock the fuck out on my guitar. I'm gonna do or the other and don't have any smack so I guess whT I'm doing now.

people find it kind of strange that i like my dope + im a dj. ive played sets on every drug (everything from acid and mdma to coke/adderall/weed), but my most technical and interesting (and arguably best) sets come from when i stick to weed and H, although i normally throw a stimulant in to pay attention....

but i was talking to my friend who lives in yonkers, he said he and his brother (who lives in brooklyn) have noticed the same price drops on quality dope that I have been seeing a good 2.5/3 hours north of the city. has anyone else experienced a price drop? bricks are close to half the price they used to be and bundles are easily 10-20 dollars cheaper than they were last month....and that's across the board between multiple connects.

Yes there is most certainly a price drop.. it's been happening for a while now. Years ago, even just an hour out of the city.. the prices were double and the quality was usually crappy. Now however, the suburbs of NY are selling the roughly same shit for the same price.. I mean, it's pretty amazing and the only thing I can attribute it to is a serious increase in supply. Granted, you're still going to get wholesale prices a lot cheaper in the city but as far as just bundle for bundle/bag for bag... the towns even a couple hours north of the city are now selling dope for city prices... its really dangerous because now a lot of kids have access to really good and really cheap heroin. There were 11 overdoses, 7 fatal, in the town I grew up in this past December.. and it's about an hour and a half north of NYC.

I wouldn't really say I am a musician , but I play the drums just for fun and It comes much easier when I'm high. Just more natural.

When I am behind the tables though , I have more fun when high, but I don't know about how it sounds , or how my mixes come together. To me it sounds amazing but I could just be high , so no telling.

Met a dude who does dope and lives in Jersey but works in the city and he hooked me up with two bundles. They're Bugatti stamp bags. It's some mid-grade shit but the price was really good, much cheaper than I've heard from NY junkies.

I will say this: while I've had stronger tar, the high from this powder is much cleaner. Tar is a strange high; I always liked pharmaceuticals better than tar for that reason. But this shit actually feels like morphine. I gotta say, thumbs up east coast.

i had a good laugh at mention of anthony and flea mixing their coke up in a glass and just drawing whenever having another shot. reminded me of a few times a few times using meth and mixing a g+ up between a few of us at times. ignorance and recklessness with meth was always a winner

Ya true. It has the same effect on everyone. I remember last summer a member of a well known band (who's name escapes me) was playing with the band at a very popular place in the southern part of ma. This is a big outdoor venue and is one of maybe three places in the state where huge names perform. Anyways this band member ended up taking a cab to a nearby cvs and then tried to rob the place for opioids. Weird to me that someone performing for thousands, who had videos on mtv and was in what I think was an international tour at the time. Just goes to show i guess.

Shit man, I remember reading about that and thinking it was pretty fucked up. I forgot that happened. He performed in Mansfield I'm assuming, right?

Soo many cops in nyc its fucking scary to go cop. I went uptown to cop a little late and basically got interrogated by a cop. Also dope is kind of expensive in the city. what do you guys think?

It was the bassist of Coheed and Cambria. Apparently he robbed a pharmacy and then took a cab to Great Woods/Comcast/Verizon Center, whatever the hell they call it now. Dopesickness will do that to a person.
