NSW - Bluelight in the snow Mark 2. *REVIEW*

Well, most cocktails will need white rum or vodka. If we got 2 bottles of each of them, that already $100+ gone. Plus baileys, various schnaps', and Kaluha. That will take most of the money right there.

But what i reckon we'll end up doing is going through the books and seeing what looks good. It would probably be cheaper if we bought them in Sydney though... :/

Bah! I'll work something out. We go for cocktails a fair bit... :)

yay go the southo! hehe =D

Has the cocktail book ben sent/bought etc? because i do have one and i can bring it along?

the best WHITE RUM you can buy for cocktails is Malibu.

your basically lookin to pay around $30 for a bottle of (vodka, mailbu, midori)

there are various brands of Schnapps around so just get the cheapest.

i would advise goin to a wholesaler bottle shop...not you local as they tend to add on a few bucks for profit...

i dont know bout in sydney but here in melbs we have Ducans and Woolworths/Safeway for a lil bit more cheaper than normal price.

sothern is real nice with plain old lemoade but not so good in cocktails. the taste contrasts to much with the other ingredients.

*i forgot to get the book the other day so will do it wednesday when im at work*

...if you run out of money why not delegate a bottle to each car going and that way they can chip in ten bucks each or how ever much needed to being extra booze ;)

or soft drink and juice to each car.

That's a good idea stars! That way we can buy the stuff at liquorland (they have a 2 for $50 at the moment on some stuff) and we can know in advance what else we may need.

I am in constant contact with Nin_fuct as she is one of my closest friends. She doesn't know whether or not she is coming yet, because she has some personal issues to resolve involving money. At this stage (without nin_fuct) we have $260 to play with. I will probably go next week and get some stuff for the par~tay, however fruits we might leave until we're there, or perhaps in Canberra...
If she does come, then i'll go out and get more booze... we'll have $390, which will make for a good party indeed. :)

As for the southern comfort, i feel that if enough people say they would want it, then i will get a bottle. However, it will need to be a reasonable amount of people (say 5 or more) just because i feel that this money is for all of us, and if i bought it for just 2 or 3 people, then someone else would have the right to ask for a bottle of Frangelico (or whatever). :\

So if you want Southern Comfort, raise your hand. :)

So far both Doofster and Biggerbear have a vote.

PS, Kat has already said she will bring cocktail books, and i have a few as well, so no more books are needed. If you want to bring something, keep an eye out for plastic or disposable cocktail (or other interesting) glasses... we're not going to have enough unless we all just have one glass and wash it constantly. ;)

^^^^^ woolies has a basic plastic glassware set. we bought some a while ago. they have champange imitations and normal wine imatations and also martini ones.

I'd vote no for southern... I'm not s huge fan, and it doesn't really go with any cocktail I'd like to down ;)

For those who like it though, remember you are free to bring whatever you want along with you too.

So, so far we have the following votes for Southern Comfort:

Yes
-Doofster
-Biggerbear

No
- Me
- Funky^Monk
- Katmeow
- Djc

The main reason that i have voted no (appart from the fact that i can't drink brown spirits without being sick) is that it's not a cocktail drink. If enough people want it, i'll get a bottle, but i personally think it would be better bought and brought by those who actually want it, so that there are more resources available for the cocktails which are for everyone. :)

I'm all for enjoying a single malt with such fine purveyors of the finer things, like biggerbear and CB. Philistines who mix single malt with anything more than ice are to be put to death INSTANTLY!!!!!

I hope everyone has been following up on their mission to find a cocktail glass!!

We souvenired some shot glasses on the weekend :)

ok. ignore the group southern comfort request :)

i will contribute said southern comfort black :), enough laphroaig and lagavulin for lots of drams, some johnny walker green for the philistines that mix and whatever odds and ends of alcohol i find in my pantry ;)

If I remember last year we had to be out of the house by around 11... so we just got up and cleaned etc, then afterwards some people started home, while others went back to the slopes.

im a no also for the southern comfort. lovely SWEET coctails for me thanks. mmm midori...mmm malibu...mmm vodka... blah lblah blah u get my drift.

THERE BETTER BE SNOW WHEN WE GO. SPRING HAS ARRIVED EARLY, AAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Anyway, yay its so soon!

AND if anyone is planning on going to the slopes on the sunday... id be keen, id love 3 days out there... but then would need a ride home to sydney.

:)
