NPS Act V1. Blankets? Just Say No!

Hang on, just go back a bit there... What's this about porn? Have I missed summat? I thought only paedophilia, necrophilia, bestiality and violent porn were illegal. If not, then I'm well and truly fucked... :(

Sorry, this is the whole issue with the law, nobody really knows what's illegal or not - the police have tried to prosecute people for porn where someone was wearing a gas mask... not to mention the bloke in a tiger suit in a joke video that was attempted to be prosecuted as a "realistic depiction" of bestiality!

In April this year, as well as necro/beastie, they added a clause that penetration with penis or an object without a person's consent in a video is also prosecutable. You'd think this was supposedly to stop nasty real rape videos, but imagine a guy who is tied and gagged and his domme his shoving a dildo up his bum - or similar dungeone style scenario involving woman/man etc - that could easily be interpreted as rape under this daft and restrictive law as the ballgag means the person is not able to give consent, which could be interpreted by overzealous idiots as illegal rape. There's nothing in the wording that says consensual BDSM is excluded. Like many of these new laws, this seemed to go through without parliamentary debate or much fanfare. As Myles Jackman the obscenity lawyer states, porn is the canary in the coalmine of free speech. It's the first step towards internet control, first they tell us what it's acceptable to watch - the next step is to try blocking overseas websites they don't like, without a fucking care for net neutrality or free speech or freedom of expression, and accepting that some will bypass this with proxies/VPNs etc - but as long as they pen the majority of the heaving masses that will satisfy them for the time being I expect.

It's all very chilling and most people don't even seem to know it's happening. What usually happens in the case of the porn laws is some young lad gets in a fight and gets arrested. He happens to have a video of some beastie stuff a mate has sent him for a laugh on his phone. Police go through his phone, see said video, charge him with extreme porn, lad pleads guilty out of shame, is forced to sign sex offenders register and now has a criminal record for something he didn't even realise was illegal.

Sort of back on topic, this is along similar themes of control and oppression. I recently read Europe may be blocking Cameron's plan to make adult filters for ISPs the compulsory default - maybe there is something in European legislation that makes this NPS bill illegal (no wonder the Tories want out of European Human Rights Legislation!). what a tangled web they weave.

Here in the U.S. their making the ingredients illegal so they stop selling it but from what I heard they are discovering so much new shit all the time that it takes a while to ban.
Like here where I live if you get caught with spice and something to smoke it out of it's a felony but if you get caught with less than a Zip of weed and it's not separately bagged it's usually only a misdemeanor ticket. That's why I rather just do the real thing cause less trouble and less side effects.

Hopefully I'm not violating rules saying any of that.

Just emailed my MP and a baroness pointing out the deviation from british legal tradition with this law. Only 400 words but hopefully it makes them think a bit.

Edit: Got a personalised reply from the baroness in under half an hour! I think this is our ticket.

Good job sir! I am trawling baronesses myself now. Burn 'em down.

"Unless something is specifically prohibited it is not illegal"

Problem is guys the thing they are specifically banning is being high.

unless you get high on booze...

I find it amusing to consider that this current proposal would make masturbation on stimulants illegal on two counts... ;)

so no set date as to when

Glue! High propensity for abuse, dangerously unhealthy, deadly even... Not food, not medicine, not nicotine, not alcohol.

Glue? BANNED! Fortunately, it will possible to possess glue for personal use provided you don't have more than half a gram ;)

I wrote to a baroness, let me check my email for a response...

I like your thinking Inflo, as always.. shall we pool all our money, buy an island and create our own sovereign state. How beautiful and slightly insane it all would be...

G'night, I really must catch up with you soon..

You can do what you want in international waters. Go for it.

What we need is a Dread Pirate Inflo ship...a ship commune weaving in and out and resting in the various international countries waters where whatever drug comes up on that months drug lotto can be safely gathered and used without persecution and prosecution there....let's start a 'just giving page' for the cause...

P.S MR Mist long over due catch up required when less naturally sleep deprived..

What is the state of play regarding admiralty law and drug usage and possession?

Haha.. <3 you... We could just grab some chemists off here for the lifelong voyage and just whip up our own drugs... I'm in....

Well I seem to act as pretty much an RC disposal service so... I'll gerbil. ;)
Teeny bit of BioChem/Pharmacology knowledge and can provide own lab coat so can pretend I have a clue what I'm doing.

C'mon Miss Flo, get this organised. ;)

... what he say..?

hes not keen on my posting his email right now, but would appreciate some signatures on his petition when he gets its set up. If its not linked directly to their site i'll be able to post the url, as i wont be breaking the sourcing rule. I think all the vendors of legal highs, kratom, and everything else, should club together and create one big joint petition for all of them, getting all their members to sign, and spread the word.

heres some facts and links that may be of interest

this link will let you track the bill's progress and theres also a large downloadable pdf doc available below too, with all the relevant details

http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2015-16/psychoactivesubstances.html

Theres also some explanations and discussion of how they propose to impliment the plans

http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/lbill/2015-2016/0002/en/16002en01.htm

The bill has had its first reading on Thursday 28th May 2015.

It's scheduled for its second reading on the 9th June 2015. 8o That doesnt give anyone much time. This is looking very grim.

Well done on those links MDB. If you read through to the end of the Lords summary they state that the earliest they expect the bill to become law is the 1st April 2016. Seems like a while away but people need to get as much of what they want/need now as the vendors will not have the time to restock on the individual RC's as they run out.

Allready received some "closing down sales" mails from vendors.
