I'd just like to see the focus of Big Pharma move towards better pain relief for patients and away from the prevention of abuse.
When fingers are pointed at those who abuse painkillers for recreational purposes, it gets ridiculous. Realize this I, as someone who has abused painkillers, did not do so because I was trying to make it more difficult for pain patients to get medications that worked for them. I did it because I enjoy it. Now big pharma, the govt and doctors have decided that because of the enjoyment I get they should change how they deal with patient's pain. These decisions are being made not because of the people who the medication is actually for, how absurd is that?
And guess what, I just do heroin now, so greater of 2 evils, pick one. Trying to stop people from doing drugs is a simple situation of plug one hole and another pops right up. Look at the stupid Silk Road shutdown, in 1 week another tor site is reaping all their lost profits. Same on the street, bag one big dealer and another steps right in to take his profits. At least when the black market was filled with easy to abuse pills we knew what doses we were taking.
