Not feeling it with Codeine

250 mg of codeine is equal to 35 mg of Hydro and about 25 mg of oxy.

a lightweight or newbie would get high as all hell on those doses...or even sick as shit.

I disagree 250mg is no way near equal to 25mg of OC. theoretically 250mg of codeine gets converted into(for the majority) 25mg of oral morphine, which has nothing on OC taken orally... and also from personal experience... Iv'd morphine however

It doesn't. It's more like 10-15 mg IM. Only about 4 mg of those 25 of Morphine taken orally reach your brain.

So the CYP2D6 enzyme doesn't convert 10% of codeine to morphine taken orally? or the 10% of converted morphine doesn't all make it past the BBB? What are you saying about IM? IM codeine is metabolised into 10-15mg of morph.... didn't know IM codeine was all the rage. Unless you meant IM morphine or OC in which case i'm confused as it doesn't seem relevant to the bit you highlighted me on

some people don't get any effect from codeine because their body is unable to turn it into its active metabolites because of a missing enzyme of some sort... i dont remember the % of people like that tho, but you could be one of those people who just doesn't get anything from codeine.

^^agreed... i think its about 10% of the population that have this enzyme "deficianxy"

250 mg of oral codeine has the same effectiveness as 10-15 mg of morphine TAKEN BY intramuscular injection. It's supposed that (there are newer studies on that, sorry for no link) the 25 megs of m in which the codeine gets metabolized into aren't processed further by the liver, meaning most of it reaches the BBB. 25 mg of oral morphine DOES get cut down by the liver and only about 20% of it reaches the BBB. I think the difference in quantity between aprox 13 megs and the 25 you can deduce is given by the speed it reaches your brain.

I mean, why they would even bother with codeine if it wasn't an effective tool in getting m orally and slowly to your brain.

I remember when I had very little tolerance getting sedated and pleasantly high from about 300 mg of c. Low doses of m (the 5 mg that seem to be the standard for vials where I live) intramuscular barely comes close.
I imagine that a cwe of 300 mg of c would roughly be the equivalent of 25 mg of sc m.

i once had something like 400mg of codeine in tylenol 3 form. weak opiate high, nothing fantastic, but i barely felt 20grams of 20x kratom therefore fuck that.
