On topic: DPRK is anything BUT a paradise for anyone aside from the Dear Leader. DPRK is one of the last places on earth where concentration camps are used on a massive scale, where dissidents, and sometimes, the entire family of dissidents and runaways are held, worked and starved to death.

The first thing I thought when I read this article is that North Korea would make a perfect haven for drug cartels looking for a place in northeast Asia to transit, store, or manufacture drugs, or any contraband for that matter. The leadership there answers to absolutely no one, and is a party to no international treaties or agreements of any sort. It's an awfully short yacht ride from there to Vladivostok or Niigata. If the country really is in dire straits, it would surprise me if this hasn't already been quietly happening for some time.

North Korea fascinates me in a perverse "not supposed to be seeing this" kind of way. I've spent hours on Google Earth trying to catch glimpses of remote parts of it, usually when I've been really stoned. But really, the leaders of North Korea don't deserve praise for this. Or anything. And coming from a man who loves his marijuana, that's saying a lot.

I don't know about how involved NK would be with production and any kind of world-wide distribution of drugs. It seems like it would be a haven for drug cartels, given the diplomatic impunities (they don't "feel" a part of the drug war) and the pharmaceutical machine's lack of oversite, as well as cultural incongruities allowing for a wider expansion of drug tolerance or acceptance (though I doubt the latter, given they seem to want to be like a Western country). Even if drug are freely produced, grown and transported, the government there would simply take all there profits and force anyone involved into a sort of concentration camp. I'd rather wait for our society to finally accept that the war on drugs is completely futile, as is seen with evidence of two states in the US legalizing weed for recreational use.

interesting.. now I want to move to where heroin can be legally prescribed for me. I see no other way out :/ Here in US you can just move to Washington or Colorado for that now. My family lives up in WA, I really need to visit

Anyway, maybe the munchies motivate the troops more- they have like a 10 year commitment, they are indocrinated with the notion that the south is full of food in case of an incursion by the north- maybe cannabis induced munchies increases the motivation- a strategic move. Anyway North Korea is neither an altruistic state nor a worker paradise. And despite slanging to earn hard currency it aint no Amsterdam of the East or Cambodia. Its a drab Stalinist police state.

By the way, the dear leader, Kim jon il or whatever his name was, I get them mixed up was with a high index of suspicion, a tweaker. That ugly, psychotic little bastard liked to smoke Shabu, whatch porn and horror movies and have orgies with lots of prostitutes imported from around the world. Not that I have any problems with this, somewhat envious, but that sadistic bastard didn't deserve that shit, a true perpatrator of crimes against humanity. He paid with a stroke and his eventual demise.

But all the tweaking was making him paranoid as fuck and precipitated delusions of grandeur- hence the WMD/ nuc program to compensate for his shriveled crystal dick. Likw I said he paid for such indulgences with a stroke and eventual demise. But he suffered from the same delusional thinking as other charasmatic leaders as Hitler on the one extreme to Kennedy on the other the latter which got shots of meth and vitamins in his ass - amazingly the Cuban missle crisis was averted.

And fix the comments on them, all the articles on the front page say only a small amount of comments when there are always loads more. Oh, whilst i'm at it, and add more tweets to the official BL twitter account, they seem to only use DiTM articles and pretty rarely, they could pump out the articles and info and gain alot of followers quickly, as it is there is only just over a 1000 followers I think.
