Nootropics (piracetam etc) - mega merged

Three things.

First, the second picture is not of a smooth superhighway, but of a cobble-stone street with a big puddle.

Second, you NEVER get tired anymore? That's not good.

Third, are there any scientific studies validating the use of piracetam? Any at all?

I have yet to find a single scientific article that suggests any negative side effects from short- or longterm use of Piracetam.

most people do not have to use much choline with piracetam

in fact a little too much and it becomes counter-productive (we toss around the description of 'brain fog' to try to get across the feeling of being over-cholinated).

is there a better choline option than soy lecithin??
I have a budget bottle of soy-lecithin from (a major chain of large, discount department stores) in the US, and I can't help thinking it's simply repackaged waste with unwanted chemicals.

im googling my way through alternatives which can be dangerous, but any positive/negative thoughts on "Galantamine" ?

Isochroma, your comparison of amphetamines and dopaminergens to Citifinancial is priceless! :D

I too, have tasted the blessings of the 'racetams....

The first one I tried was Aniracetam (sent to me by happy mistake on the part of the vendor; I paid for piracetam)... the damn things made me feel like I could cram a night's sleep into 20 minutes! Sure there were some weird, vivid, lucid nightmares in the getgo (probably just part of some kind of neurochemical housecleaning), but the overall results either met or exceeded expectations...

I can literally see the difference in my note-taking... the day I started requiring more than 3 colors for highlights, for instance. :D

I've been doing piracetam since then, and while the onset is quicker (water soluble as opposed to fat soluble) and the half life roughly equivalent to aniracetam, the piracetam is cheaper. I look forward to trying pramiracetam (similarly fat-soluble, supposed to have a longer half-life). My intuition claims that fat-solubility is better for those who will have unscheduled breaks in their regimen (like Canadians, who can import 'racetams by the key, but cannot just run out to the health food store and get some).

While I can't advocate the use of illegal substances ;) (at least while these fuckers here have my email as my username), I can certainly attest to the fact that if an individual controls dose, avoids alcohol and ganja (forgive me) as much as realistically feasible, and ensures that the only man-made substances to pass through the digestive tract are those phenethylamines you trust, with proper supplementation, you _can_ have your cake and eat it too. At the very least, a 'racetam allows your hemispheres to come into contact; perhaps have a little party of their own... those who feel that their analytical side is at war with their creative side should take note.

For those who are worried about their cognitives after too much fun, for the occasional dance-floor disciple who's perhaps looking to recover some of that 'first time magic', or for those who are at the stage in their life where their faculties are starting to desert them (my god, are ex-ravers comparable to Alzheimer's/stroke/epilepsy sufferes?), or even if you're just a hyper-curious, hyper-creative sort who wants to keep it together long enough to finish that techno album you're writing, or a student at post-secondary who wants to get all the troops in line, racetams are highly recommended nootropics.

For those who ask why, o god, _why_ anyone would try to supplement their only brain for continual adventure, I can only paraphrase Edmund Hillary: because the state of consciousness is there. If you value it, you will complement it with the best choices for yourself possible. And REM sleep is as good of a self diagnostic as ever.

Peace

_PS_ I also like vinpocetine and Gingko...

PPS- a warning to drinkers and tokers... Piracetam will get you drunk off three beers faster than a teenage girl on a preload of GABA... same goes for god's spice... if course, your mileage may vary

^ yeah I tried the cetams .

And yoga positions that increase brain blood flow .

They both feel the same .
Just excersise every day

I find Piracetam to very useful in day to day activities. It gives a mild stimulation and clearness to everything you do. I find that it usually takes a few days of dosing to kick in though. I also find that it helps improve my mood and make me happier.

It's very subtle though and not exactly over-powering. But that's exactly what like I about it. When you do speed, you will crash. Piracetam, not so much...

someone should find the average age of people who take it ?

it could be the reason why we are getting mixed results eh ?

5HTP and Nootropics (Piracetam)

I am a former ecstasy user who has been using 5HTP to improve mood over the past month and it has been greatly successful. I have been feeling more "human" then ever since my drug use, and have been really happy with the results. I have recently been using Piracetam for cognitive enhancement, and am wondering if there is any information on taking the two in conjunction with each other. I have looked for information on this topic and have yet to yield any decent results. I am not looking to take these to supplement drug use by any means, and am looking at this purely from a health perspective.

Has anyone encountered any information on this?

Thanks to anyone that can give some insight :)

i'm in my 30's and am finding very noticeable results on this my second day. a little bit distracting actually.

this pira was very stimulating today. is it going to be like that every day or stronger or will i become adjusted to it?

just took a 1g scoop with my brekkie and another with dinner.

^it was only that day. since then i've been fine.

but another question, and i hope this one is actually answered: are you meant to cycle with dosage or keep it constant?

I'm trying a higher attack dose of 4g because I haven't felt much with 3g. But...I'm taking it all at breakfast, stirring it into my yogurt and water. Kinda gross. What's a good way to take the powder if I don't have any gelcaps?

Also, should I be spacing my 4g dose throughout the day? How long will the effects last? Mixed with 500mg choline?

Awful stuff.

To your question, I would dump it in a paper and bomb it. Toilet paper will leak through.

It is garbage to me. Tried it in all doses, feel nothing. These smart drugs are a nice way for you to waste your money IME. I'm going to try to not use choline so I can see if there is any effect at all, maybe if I get a headache it will work. I suppose it has its purposes, I'll find a way to sneak it into my co-workers bitter food, and then sell some expired aspirins at $4 a piece.

I've tried one tub, hoping it would work. Nope its not working, maybe its the manufacturer? No. Its probably just me. And most of the people that have taken it. The clear feeling you all describe can be easily accessed through a low 5mg dosage of amphetamines.

The few rave reviews it gets and its cheap price makes it a prime target for purchasers. Go ahead, see if an 'attack dose' works for you, and then try to see if they honor a money back guarantee. Its worth it to try, but I'm just going to stick to something that is proven to work, and has real medical studies done, instead of hoping to that I will be one of the ravers of this abysmal product.

Eggs can certainly be a great way to get some extra choline, but they are no substitute for a sufficient choline supplement.

Also, be aware of the biological status of the chickens those eggs came from. In all likelyhood, those chickens are not healthy.
They are kept in small cages all day long, surrounded by other chickens who shit and piss all over each other, and also peck each other often. They are fed nutrient deficient foods and in some cases synthetic hormones. Do you really want to eat the eggs that came from that chicken? :\
On the other side of the coin, you have choline supplements synthesized and tested to 99%+ purity.

The choice seems obvious to me :)

nagasaki, i just mix it in juice. have some with brekkie and some with dinner. 1-2g each time.

depressicaa, this stuff is pretty shitty if you want to get high off of it. i have noticed significant concentration and memory improvements while on it.

the only reason i've cut back on it this week is because i'm not going to be taking with me travelling this month. can't be arsed causing a fuss when crossing borders.

Ah, piracetam is great! Definitely makes my thinking clearer, note-taking and paying attention easier.

As for taking it but not experiencing the awful taste, I'd say parachute it. But really, a capsule machine+gelcaps can be obtained for under $20 and is a great investment.

I just started dosing 1 - 2g's on Thursday, with 500mg of choline once or twice a day. So far I've found slight increases in concentration, mental clarity, and stamina, meaning I can do physical and mental tasks with greater ease with less distractions. It's been great motivation for writing papers and doing homework. I do seem to be overall happier and when I wake up in the morning I feel less groggy and more awake, ready to start my day. Usually I smoke a bowl or three of mids at night and usually wake up with a foggy mind in the morning, requiring extra time to "wake up", but since piracetam, I feel less clouded and more able to get things done sooner than without taking anything.

I've read the effects take some time to fully flourish, so taking one dose for one or two days may not really do much for you, however, the first dose I took, about 700mg combined with yerba mate, synergized very well and seemed to increase my focus greatly. I have to say, combining yerba mate and piracetam = awesome!
