If stp didn't get chosen I would've thrown a fit. I would hope mal had enough foresight to put those in his choices 🤓 but you never know
Scott weiland- rip
Delores o' riordan- rip
Both great bands, but no hope of replacing either of them. No reunion tour😢

I'm bookmarking peoples picks so I can go back and find them. If you've made multiple posts and have picked more than 2 don't come bitching when I pick the wrong ones.

and just to be clear, I'm going to take all the bands nominated here, then fill the rest of the slots with shit I choose from the list I have, my goal being to have each round be as competitive as possible

Stp definitely isn't the same without weiland, but still good and worth seeing

Can I change mine 😭

You do that.
But as The Offspring is only mentioned here
Well, there are a lot of fine bands to choose from. These are not necessarily my favorites but I'm sure someone else will pick Nirvana or Offspring, for example, so I'm just going with two that I hope don't get forgotten.
The Cranberries
Stone Temple Pilots
I would like to revert this suggestion
Rammstein
Green Day
And make it as per new requirements

Rammstein
The Offspring

They are good musically (instrumental).
They had there own sound, and it was good I have 2 albums(cd's) some where. But weiland was great with revolver velvet. (Aka guns and roses minus Axl, well sort of Izzy was under rated and over shadowed by Slash. Matt Sorum( mis?) Is better than Steven something.
Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff and Steven. Yeah he was the odd man, literally and name wise. Not sure who the 5th man in velvet revolver was, it certainly wasn't Izzy but they are from the 2000's so no eligible.

I have no problem with you and respect you greatly, but damn you have bad taste in music, lol. Not trying to be mean but your taste in music, ehh....

That's ok. There's a LOT you would find even more "bad" than what I shared lately. And then there's a lot of music many like, but I don't.

Rammstein and offspring are both awesome honestly, so idk. Many people have no concept of "fun" in music. They suck all of the art out of it and it has to be this deathly serious, virtuoso thing where the whole band has to fit into certain archetypes or they are "bad"

I really don't know how the voting is going in all this, but as.much as I really like grunge, I may just vote against it. Fuck all that angst! We need more fun in this world. I am voting for Primus, even though they aren't on my list of two
Suit yourself 😧 I think the world could use a little more angsty alternative rock right about now. Too much blase and vapid pop and nonsense. Need some gritty real shit, or some cosmic fuckery like Primus would work too

what is that song that was played on rock radio a lot in the 90's. it was kind of pop rock. the lyrics in the chorus were something like "love the olyooo" i have no idea if the word was "olyoo," but that's the way it sounded to me. it was "love the..." something or other i couldn't understand... it wasn't hard rock at all... i've been searching you tube and search engines for "90's rock hits" and like "90's rock hit love the lyrics" all sorts of combinations and searching of random videos, i can't find the song.. it's not on the radio at all anymore either... would love to hear that song again. ANYBODY KNOW???

Guys is anyone still interested in this? Because I'm definitely not going to put forth the effort if not.

i'd do it out of boredom, but there's no reason you should go through the effort of setting it up if you aren't in the mood... i've already kind of went through the whole 90's in my head and decided what i favor more. it might actually be impossible for me to vote on some of this stuff, like so much tying imo. it's cool for me to reminisce about though. listening to rock radio as a kid was a pretty wild ride... This was for all genres of 90's music though? Gin Blossoms, Counting Crows, Spin Doctors were some favorites of mine on pop radio. i loved hardrock too. like picking between Slipknot, White Zombie, Limp Bizkit or Korn is a pretty rough task to me, and then it's like if i'm in the mood to listen to hard stuff or like Bush, Gin Blossoms or whatever.

i might actually be inspired to post sets of songs from the emo genre and see if anybody can get into it and what people gravitate toward.. i already wrote a pretty detailed review of emo music in the emo thread.. kind of a lot for some people to check out, but maybe people are curious what emo is... a genre that varies a lot. i've been checking out a lot of the newer stuff that kids on reddit are into now days too other than the 90's and 2000's hits i grew up with. i might just post as a way to study it for myself and keep the stuff fresh in my memory talking about it, not really caring if anyone else checks it out.. we'll see though. i'm pretty lazy.
