Methamphetamine is not as pleasurable as heroin, LSD, or MDA, MDMA, etc.
Some people would disagree with me, but that's just my 2 cents.
I would agree with heroin, MDA, and MDMA. I myself find LSD to produce an atypical kind of euphoria, that I don't find nearly as interesting as others.
Somebody posted in one of my recent amphetamine threads that 'less is more'. And I generally think for all intensive purposes when it comes to non-methylated amphetamines this to be true. I think with amphetamines in general the re-dose curve is very high, so you want that euphoria to never end.
I myself don't find methylphenidate or such analogs to have any euphoria. I think it is all relative on a personal level.
Give yourself a long period of sobriety, then try a lower-end recreational dose of amphetamine. I myself am currently under the influence of 60mg insufflated amphetamine (racemic mixture) and am finding that I should have been dozing this low the entire time. I am getting the same if not better effects from 60mg insufflated than I did after 100mg IV'd. And the amphetamine I am discussing at hand is about as pure a product I could wash it down to.
I think IV methamphetamine users are/would be more often let down by IV amphetamine. IV amphetamine in general, is a letdown. And prior to my first time trying cleaned street grade amphetamine for IV use the only experiences I had with IV amphetamines were IV MDMA and speed-balling dextroamphetamine salts with hydromorphine IV. So maybe I set myself
up for overall failure but i would generally argue that even pharmaceutical grade amphetamine salts are rather pointless to IV. Try a different ROA after giving yourself some time off from using any stimulants. Then you might find the fun.
Also there could be a many other factor in this. Such as experiences of the past where you had bouts of insomnia and or other pronounced side-effects and those thoughts sit at a sub-conscious level not allowing you to fully enoy your stimulate g high.
But I would probably blame it on the methamphetamine.
