wierdness on medical-grade nitrous - 1st time

This occured several years ago at a friend's apartment when another friend of ours drove up with something in the back of his car. He immediately came up and asked for help bringing it in, but he wouldn't say what it was. When we got down to his car i could see is that it was big and wrapped in quilts, blankets, coats, anything to hide its true shape and size. Three of my friends had a very hard time getting it upstairs and i think to an observer from the street it may have looked like they were trying to get a dead body upstairs or something.

When they got it upstairs, it was unwrapped to reveal a 5 foot tank of nitrous.. the kind you would see in a dentist's office. I had no idea how they obtained this nor did i want to know.

Up until that point i had never had nitrous before and didn't really know what to expect. A friend filled up a balloon, inhaled the contents, and immediately fell back onto the bed in a fit of laughter and drooly dazed-outness. When she came to about 45 seconds or so later, she filled a medium sized balloon and handed it to me. It just felt like somebody had put a grid over my field of vision and everybody had their vocal chords replaced with one of those stephen hawking style voice generators. no big deal.

As the night went on, we all did many, many, many balloons full. WAAAAAY more than i have ever done since. This is where it got wierd. After about the 10th or so balloon, each time i inhaled a balloon, i would lose conciousness and go to this 'dream world' where i was in a wagon train in the old west. I would stay in this alternate world for a few minutes (which, while i was there, was totally real and convincing in every way and seemed much longer than a few minutes), then it would feel like i was 'yanked' back to 'conventional' reality. It would take a couple of minutes before i realized that THIS was where i was supposed to be, that i was NOT really in a wagon train in the Old West.

Each time i did another balloon i would go back to the wagon train and the story would continue right where it left off. Eventually we were attacked by indians, had to circle the wagons, and ultimately fight them off and continue on our way. This 'dream' unfolded through the use of probaly 20-30 balloons over the course probably 1.5 - 2 hours.

Also, during the times that i was 'reajusting' to the real world after waking up from the dream, i was able to see people walking around the house.. say through a doorway or something.. and then immediately see the same scene in 'reverse', like somebody had hit the rewind button on my visual field. This happened about 2 or 3 times.

The next day i was totally brain dead. I felt really "cracked-out" for lack of a better term. I just felt stupid and sluggish.

Has anybody else had an experience this profound on JUST nitrous before? i have heard of similar experiences on other substances but never nitrous.

not healthy

yeah like i said, i felt like my brain was mush the next day. definately will not do that much again

Sounds kind of similar to the "other" worlds I've been dropped into on DXM and ketamine. Wish I had friends who'd just drop by with a tank of nitrious right out of the blue.

so "medical-grade nitrous" is different from what you would find in whippits/nangs? 8)

LOL!

Oh dear, nitrous, the root of all evil.

Yeah, I can attribute to the 'cracked out' feeling, I just call it 'retardation'.

There's something strange about the feeling of how shallow reality is when you're on nitrous, you feel like your reality could just be a halluciation. I also get chronic deja vu when on nitrous.

Congrats on the tripreport, and god I wish I had that much nitrous.

-plaz out-

yeah, not another world, just a smaller scale experience. i was back in swimming lessons from when i was 7. except i was kinda floating a metre or so underwater looking down at this thing on the bottom of the pool that i was always really afraid of. it looked like a trap door, i was scared that itd open and wed all go down like in a plug hole.
i could smell the chlorine, hear the splashing and kids yelling. we were just using a cream dispenser to have our nitrous, maybe with a tank over a few hours itd get crazier!

actually yes it is, there is food grade (what's in whipits), auto grade (for those street racing guys, this nitrous is often mixed with hydrogen sulfide - nasty stuff) and medical grade (purified for human use)

aahhhh i see kooooool, me wants sum medical grade now mmmm =D

I've noticed that after doing too many whippits in a short period of time will send me into another 'world' that repeats or continues when i take one. usually its old school memories of me and my brother playing outside or running through the woods or something. sometimes its stuff i did that day. weird but interesting... it's weird because when i'm under, i'm doing whatever in my 'other' world, but still sort of being able to hear and comprehend whats going on in reality, and it seems ok and understandable until i open my eyes, and i'm like where the fuck am i and what's going on, and who are these people? i will have forgotten that we are all getting retarded on whippits and that i just came out of the haze! then i proceed to laugh at myself for taking too many and pass on the next balloon that comes my way because i have reached my limit.
i hate feeling cracked-out the next day. and damn i've gotten some crazy nightmares EVERY time i've done whippits.
i usually pass these days.....once in a while is still fun though
