Does any sort of tank work with nitrous as long as you have the correct regulator? My buddy is a fireman and the department is giving out the oxygen tanks because they're upgrading to newer ones. We're basically going to get a free oxygen tank and we had hoped that we could put a N2O regulator on the tank and re-fill with N2O as needed; those whippit chargers are a little more expensive than we'd like and my roommates and I all like to do a few whippits at our house parties but we typically can go through 40 on a Friday night (as a house of 6 guys
).
Would putting a nitrous regulator on an oxygen tank work? Or do we have to purchase a tank made specifically for N2O? Likewise, can pure N2O be used in an empty car-racing tank? (I don't mean refilling a tank at a car store because of the sulfur dioxide...)
Thanks for your input, and we are open to new ideas!
