NHL Playoffs 2010

I don't think it is that the Sharks are not good enough, I just see a Chicago team that is better then the rest.

...and as I type this, Chicago just made it 4-1.

There is no space for the Sharks. The Hawks are out skating and out hitting everyone. Add plenty of skill and you have a beast of a team. Their defense is clearly the best in the league, bar none. Chicago at their best is a step above the rest.

That doesn't mean that the other 3 teams don't have a chance, but if Chicago plays their best every game from here on out, it's theirs.

I'd agree. I originally thought their goaltending was gonna be their downfall, but Niemi's been pretty solid up to this point. You could tell at the beginning of the year that they'd be a contender just by the roster, then they upgraded in nets.
 
Well you guys were right... Sharks didn't have a chance.. It should be the end of the road for Nabokov.. How can you guys be so good for a few years in a row and choke each year in the playoffs? Man it's hard to be a Sharks fan... Gotta give props to Chicago they're a great team.. I hope they take it all.
 
^I wouldn't put this on Nabokov... The rest of his team has to execute, too! (besides Patrick Marleau)

I was really hoping for a 16 goal game after it was 4-4 before 10:00 in the second!
 
I don't think you're gonna see that again in this series. Defense was pretty weak on both sides.

For us, Ryan Parent(D) only played one shift and it led to a goal. You could see at the end that the Flyers were gassed. I don't expect to see Parent playing next game. They'll probably bring up Oskars Bartulis (olympian from Latvia). We can't keep running on basically 4 D men for the whole series. Pronger played over 32 min tonight.

Anyways, game 2 almost underway! Sorry to say it Sticky, but I want the Hawks to win this one. I have an unhealthy love affair with the city of Chicago, and I've always favored them to the Flyers anyways. Gotta love those sweaters. %)
 
So they changed that offsides call on Hossa to an icing? Did I miss something or did the NHL adopt the no touch icing rule? Because nobody touched that puck before the whistle blew.
 
I saw that happen twice. I guess the linesmen have the discretion to call the the icing when there is both that and a delayed offside.

Well, now the Flyers have to take both home games. A split at home and it is pretty much over. But I will never give up on this team. I've never seen a Flyers team so resilient.
 
Great game last night. The Flyers were swarming all 3rd period...Niemi was really saving the Hawks collective asses by the end there. Let's see how they do in Philly. Pullin' for another Chicago win!
 
Goddamn Flyers always let me down!! Game last night was crazy I was throwin shit at the TV after Philly missed all those shots in the 3rd period. We cant buy a damn goal when we need it.
 
Crimson, that 3rd period was a good sign. So they didn't get the goal they needed, but they controlled the puck. There were juicy rebounds right in the slot, unfortunately none of them were on a Flyers' stick. If the Flyers win both home games, then it's a 3-game series and we have the momentum. And how can you possibly say that they ALWAYS let you down when these playoffs have been nothing but overachieving?

Stick with it. We're not in the best spot right now, but it's definitely not time to panic.
 
I'd say the time to panic comes if Chicago wins tomorrow night in Philly. Until then, it's far from over. I know the game is played on the ice, but in the Stanley Cup Finals... the crowd is a HUGE factor, imo.

The Hawks have been killing it on the road during the entire playoffs. Tonight's game should be a good one!

It'd be cool if any networks in the US gave a shit about hockey (NBC, I'm looking at you.). I don't get Versus so I can only watch the fucking games on NBC. I got to watch game 1 and game 2, then game three I didn't get to watch and game 4 isn't on a channel I get. I have the center ice package, but guess what? It recognizes Versus as a channel that I get so it's blacked out. FUCKING GRAND!

Btw, I know Versus is an American network too, but it may as well be Canadian.
