^ so you are saying that australia has a higher comparible avg salary than US, UK, major EU countries?[/URL]
well i have stayed in USA and canada for over a year and i have relatives that live in both and i can say that the average australian (low-middle class have higher compareable salaries than the USA and Canada. when i was in a west hollywood nightclub the chick working was on $5 something an hour (california was high min wages in US) my ex in chicago was on $3 an hour, same job i was doing in sydney $20 an hour. to get $20 an hour in usa and canada u need tertuary education. England has high wages like us but their cost of living is also alot higher than ours. we earn more than those in north america but food, cars and everything on average is also alot more expensive here too.
we see $40-$60 a gram as super cheap, but to the average american and canadian it can be afew hours wage just like our prices. but i still think we pay too much dont get me wrong...
You cant really compare GDP's cos its an average across whole pop and a large majority of australians are middle class with small percentage of low earners still earning a decent wage and also a small % of high income earners that dont get ridicoulous wages (to USA standards).^ research shows differently
International Comparison Program
in CA and USA theres a larger low, not many middle and a high (same as low) income earners who some earn wages that resemble of some countries.
