Massive cocaine seizure in Queensland

MORE than 450kg of cocaine has been seized in Queensland's southeast.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Australian Customs and Border Protection Service conducted a joint operation to snare the 460kg of drugs, one of the largest cocaine seizures in Australian history.

The AFP will provide further information at a media conference later today.

Just read this article this morning, 460KGs does seem like a large amount of cocaine in one bust given the population of Queensland. Is this an indication of the size of the market here if half a tonne is shipped at once, or more of an indication of the difficulty in shipping here so it is done in bulk? At the least it does seem like a lot of cocaine and I am sure someone is not going to be happy.
 
in the Australian cocaine market that amount of coke is worth EEEEEPPPPPIIIIIICCCCC amounts of cash. some one will be crying for a long time.
 
what dealer sells a point? More like a point with left over meph, msm, caffeine and milk powder as a gram :P
 
Fuckers, if they can get 450kg of coke into the country then why the fuck can't they bring us some nice clean molly:X
 
Lemme see.. because you only make 2-3 x your money if that.
Coke you can make 30-50 times your money or more.
And i really doubt it was 450kg at once. Unless they had a deal and something fucked up money wise or customs officers were being watched by some feds.

Oldest trick in the book. The cartels will constantly send trucks across the US border with a load.. get it busted on purpose and while the pigs are distracted they send like 50 other trucks over chock full haha..


As we all know, no bust ever makes a dent in supply. Especially with the coke crazy lately..and the idiots paying through the A hole to be the "coke guy" .. kinda disgusts me the big ego type trip and everything. Don't get me wrong i love a good bit of blow as much as the next bloke.. but yeh.

Still as much coke is flowing in its hard to get cause often the dealer gets greedier and greedier etc etc...
 
I can definitely see why the South Americans are transferring over large wads of coke. Just look at the maths:

On top of this cut it up with glucose or whatever other crap they put in it and you may have 1 tonne of gear.

Still, poisoning people isn't worth the money if you have a heart.

Coke, like Juice and alcohol, just brings the cunt out of me. Theres alot of cokeheads out there at clubs these days. Its a lot different to MDMA days where you acciently ta shoulders with someone and both of you automatically say sorry mate! Now you get told to fuckin watch out khunce! Ill smaaasshh you.. Look at ya, what shit drugs are you on.. Im on COKE.. Im the KING... :)

At least G and alcohol give you a buzz. Coke and crack doesnt seem to effect me, but I'm probably ADD
 
it was a catamaran carrying it from south america. a smaller yacht or something met it out of the bay to bring it in at redcliffe and both were intercepted. being watched the entire trip lol

Yeah I watched a show on Foxtel recently that said that for every 10 trucks that go through the Mexican / USA border, two get caught. They are fully aware of this and it is factored into the price. The profit from 1 truck more than pays for the two that got caught, and the profit from the other 7, well that buys a lotta drinks and rippers...
 
I haven't seen this much coke around since the 80s. I'm kind of amazed that it's regained popularity to the extent it has given the insanely high price compared to other party drugs.
 
the only reason they got caught was because the australian authorities were tipped off by US authorities. I wonder how many shipments that size get through. Definate links to cartels...one of the guys was colombian.

why the hell wont coke prices go down in australia now seeing as though it is as popular as ever here??

i love a few jacks and a few lines of charlie when im overseas...but there aint no way in hell im paying (no prices) bucks a gram for it.

coke is everywhere in Sydney at the moment. There is definitely a bit of a boom going on. I have always loved the stuff but lately it seems every bar or restaurant I go to is full of sniffers or residue on the roll holder.

I am surprised so many people seem to be able to afford it? For me, I actually like the fact that it's expensive because it just means that I do less than I would otherwise. It also seems to cause less problems socially when prices are so high and availability is relatively low.

With the aussie dollar reaching record highs, the incentive for the cartels to get coke here just keeps going up and up!
 
Its the population who pays high prices are the ones to blame. Quit paying so much for things and the prices will fall down just like the rest of the world. Just because we are a "rich" country doesnt mean we should be taken advantage of. Just refuse it. Just imagine if everyone did this how much the price would drop. The less people would pay high prices the more desperate dealers/cartels would get. Thus making it cheaper. We'd all buy more as well if it were cheaper right? I think the problems lies between addicts and desperates who are willing to pay whatever to eventually obtain it. I stopped wasting money on this sort of over priced crap long time ago. Think everyone else should realize too. Just my 2 cents.
