Whatever the truth of the matter I would pity the jury who had to listen to the terrible detail of it. The coroners report, the police report, look at the photos, the experts explain how they could tell the body was sexually abused after death, fucking hell.
poor girl.
in a broader context to drug use, i would say that in these sorts of cases where drug use is a factor (not the direct cause of the crime) that instead of increasing the penalties of drug use (in a bid to stop it) that these cases in fact support the need to restructure how we use drugs in this society.
like Kurt Cobain said I'm a negative creep and I'm stoned. (and then, sadly) Daddy's little girl ain't a girl no more".
the problem is that the drug scene is full of negative fucked up creeps that scare the living fuck out of me. I can't remember the quantity of seedy places that i've just happened into where the residents (all drug dealers, parents of friends, strange homeless people, the list go goes on), and always at about 2-3am at night was fucked up. the predators, you know those creepy deadbeats, flashy but have a vicious little psychological edge to them, always trailed by a deadbeat sidekick, the types that get fucked up and the girl their with even more so just so they can have their way.
anyway enough of that. Drugs are given bad name by these negative fucked up creeps who shouldnt be near them but are allowed easy access to them due to society, and the governments failure to regulate the access and use of these substances. Look at the kings cross injection centre. No way you can get fucked up in a some dingy dirty fucked up space, kill a girl (and do far worse) in that place.
so in summary. legalise and control drugs (and their production) and properly fund the mental health system so these negative creeps can be healed of their creep causing afflictions and create memory deleting device for juries
