New opioid users thread a.k.a. I didn't feel anything!?

obviously your tolerance is higher than that of what you're ingesting. dont go increasing it up ridiculosly to get a rush. try searching these forums for and opiate conversion chart and you will come up with a somewhat calculated answer. it's not necessarily going to be dead accurate but it will give an indication.

To all the people who arn't getting a good buzz from opiates, please for your own sake just take that as a good thing and stick to other things. I'm currently in a situation which I'm sure has been shared by many here, getting virtually no sleep last night from the anxiety and restlessness only to say fuck it and cave this morning, breaking yet another promise to myself with regards to curbing usage.

It's not worth "acquiring" the taste, if you don't like it just take it at that and leave them alone.
 
You might be what's called a "hardhead" when it comes to opiates. You'll experience all of the nausea, histamine release, analgesia and everything, but the euphoria is not there. My recent ex-gf was completely immune to the euphoric effects of opiates. At her prodding, we tried escalating doses of oxycodone, hydrocodone, morphine, hydromorphone; she got nauseous and itchy but no euphoria. After seeing what they put me through, we both considered it a good thing she would never have to experience dependence or addiction.

I can't recall where i read the percentage, DeLuca maybe, but some hypothesize hardheads to comprise 15-20% of a population.

Sounds like you could be a hardhead.
 
The best opiate high I ever got was from insufflating a 30 mg morphine sulfate tablet, really knocked me back into my chair.

I have tried Tramadol (500+ mg), Codeine (100+ mg) and Oxycontin (15 mg) but I never got any good euphoric feeling from them, maybe it's because I use them for killing the pain in my back but that morphine tab was just great.

I love codeine; when I use it I typically use doses of around 360-480mg, I have a slight tolerance that won't leave me though.

yes that could very well be possible, but what is interesting that adding in just a normal dose of ritalin completely changed the experience
 
in general combining opiates with stimulants definitely enhances the euphoria, maybe it just brought it out enough in you when without it you just were too hardheaded.

Yes definitely should have removed your anxiety completely at that dose. You should take the very good advice people are giving in this thread and forget about opiates, you seem to be a rare individual.
 
I got my wisdom teeth taken out and was given 20 percocet 5/325. The first time I took them I took 4, didn't really feel much. Yesterday I took six, and was pretty buzzed, felt dizzy, a little naseus, had to struggle to stay awake, had to put extreme effort into saying anything to my friends; but no effects that were really desirable to me and nothing affecting my thought proccess which was what I was hoping for. I have never taken really any drugs before so maybe it is just that I can not appreciate this high? Or am I not taking enough? What is a safe number to take with that much APAP in them, could I take the 10 I have left? Would drinking an energy drink or anything like that help?
 
Opiates are an acquired taste, you're just not used to them. If you were to continue to take the pills on a regular basis you would probably start liking them a lot more within a week or so. I'm going to merge this with the other "new to opiates" thread since it fits in there nicely.
 
Definatly dont go taking the last 10 you have , when you took 6 you basically felt your opiate high ... and exceeding 1000mg in one sitting is a No - no so it wouldnt be a smart idea to do so .. and keep in mind you wont be getting a refill so keep the rest to help with your pain and not for getting high.

In 1 sitting ... sounds like an awsome way to puke ... or at the very least cause some sort of damage considering its not recommended to exceed 1000 mg in 1 sitting .
 
you'll find the limit is not to exceed 4gms. 1950 wont do much in a one off situation, but i wouldnt be making it a recurrence. i'd start cold water extracting the apap
 
that would definatly be a safer way to go . considering i dont think i would even want to down that much apap willing let alone to get high ... id definatly CWE that concoction atleast eliminate some of that tylenol .. and the 4 grams is in 1 day , the 1000mg is at one time :P
 
man.... from the first time i popped 3 vikes i was in love with opiates. then vikes didnt do shit and it was all about oxy..... ive never not gotten high or anything liek you guys are saying. weird.

Apparently it's quite common, but it never really happened to me; I got something out of codeine the first time I used, but it wasn't until I came back to it a while later I fell in love.

As the other guys have said, once off is OK but don't make it a habit. If you're going to be using regularly, a CWE is your friend!

I heard that. i was introduced via a longer-acting formulation called hydrocodone polistirex, given to me in a full shot glass, of which i was instructed to drink half.

I drank 3/4 of it and that was all it took.......
