I am confused.

I took 40mg first off of hydrocodone in the form of "watson" 5/500 hydro/apap along with a few 10/325. I felt it for a little bit but it wore off quite quickly. I then took another 30mg over the course of about 3 hours.

I barely have any effects. I feel slightly light headed with a bit of dizziness here and then, slight euphoria, but other than that I'd say I'm sober. WTF? This has happened to me more than once with taking opiates. They all seem to barely affect me.

Do I have a natural tolerance? Or what?

PS I know these pills are real. No question about that. I also know I took a whole lot of Tylenol; I am fully aware that it was a bit much.

JKLDJLFflkaklf;eawd;f wtf

some people do not get euphoria when they first take opiates. i am one of those people. i took opiates on about 20 occasions before i ever felt the euphoria. chances are, if you keep taking opiates, you will eventually experience the euphoria.

the opiate high is an acquired taste.

maybe it's a good thing that you aren't falling in love with them. if a drug doesn't affect me the way i would like, i wouldn't touch it again, why do you keep going back? an opiate addiction is not something i'd seek out unless you are taking them for pain [in which case you aren't taking them as prescribed]. opiates aren't for you maybe, which isn't a bad thing. you may however have a natural tolerance.

I seem to run into stuff not working for me ALL the time. I actually didn't get a high at all, but maybe it was just not taking enough. Sucks. I feel your pain dude.

Well, I'm not saying I have tried multiple times within a small time frame. I have only tried about 3 or 4 times within the past few years; I only mess with them when they come free to me.

I do experience slight euphoria and other effects that I enjoy quite nicely. It's just that they last only an hour or so and it takes so god damn much just to feel that.

I have noticed, however, that smoking weed basically kicks it into full gear.

I am just wondering why my body reacts so differently than others who can take just 15 or 20 mg and be completely bombed. Oh well. I guess I'll just leave them alone.

^ and possibly the addiction.

yup, ive read stories of people with heavy heroin addictions who hated it the first time they tried it. but i think overall, the people who get the euphoria and not much of the side effects their first time are more likely to become addicted.

one reason i quit opiates is because even after i got the euphoria, i still got really unpleasant side effects like nausea lasting days after dosing and this weird feeling in my throat, plus itching, insomnia and tons of others.

yeah it's just a weird phenomenon, try it again in a couple of days, maybe potentiate it with some benadryl and take some tagamet beforehand, although, you might take this as a sign that you are lucky enough to not have the addiction potential, vicodin addictions get nasty quickly

soemtimes i will feel NOTHING at ANY dose. other times a single pill will nod me out. its a mind of its own

hey man i know exactly what your talking about, ive only taken vicodin a few times but every single time it barely did shit and all it did was leave me debating weather i felt it or not. oxycodone gets me high just fine, hell i feel better on tramadol then i do on hydrocodone.

What happens to me with hydrocodone or any opiate at that is I will take the first amount and get messed up, but if I try to take more when I start coming down I won't feel anything from the second dose no matter how much I take.

What have you goten off of before or is this your first narcotic? 40mg for a first timer is too much! try 5 or 10 to start.

I will assume you have used oxy however. Hydro is about 30-50% weaker mg for mg vs. oxy. It also lasts a little longer and is thus slower to kick in. Because of this many won't get the "rush" of oxy if you are used to higher doses. Hydro is however a good narcotic and it very close to oxy but there are differances. Most people prefer the oxy high but some really like hydro. Some discribe it as more stimulating but you can still catch a nod on it. I really like them both. Somewhat prefer oxy but a hydro buzz is nice once in a while. Try them mixed! Two great tastes that go great together.

Need more buzz?

Try "preloading" with cimetidine (2-4 tabs, it's cheap) an hour before. Slows liver metabolism. (beware on it's effect on MOST DRUGS, avoid tramadol)

Try adding 12.5-25 mg (or more) of diphenhydramine (benedryl) but go easy, less is sometimes more. This can really kick up the nod.

Benzos are also good but GO EASY, and NO ALCOHOL with benzos. Small amounts of alcohol are also good with narcotics.

^maybe i'm just overtired but you really sound like one of those late night TV commercials.

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE..ORDER IN THE NEXT 5 MINUTES AND WE'LL DOUBLE YOUR ORDER, THAT'S RIGHT!!!

haha, goodnight.

Yeah sometimes it takes a while to appreciate opiates, if you enjoyed it with weed, try just doing it with that until you can learn the high and enjoy it without pot.

Although the best advice would be to stay away from opiates hehe

Hydrocodone's a tricky thing. From experience, its effects seem to vary the most from person to person. Perhaps you're too good at metabolizing it and your body is simply naturally tolerant to hydrocodone.

I'm one of those people who's actually sensitive to the stuff. When I was taking it for about 5 months, before I had my hydrocodone/fentanyl combo stint, my tolerance stayed at the same exact dose (remarkably).

I would take 10mg in the morning (seems like I'd feel it more in the mornings, after taking a 'break' from opiates overnight) and get a VERY nice "up" buzz. Taking 30 mg would have me nodding, and I would do so very rarely-- 15-20 would get me high enough. Yet if i was doing OC, i'd need at least 30 mg to get a nice (if even that) buzz.

Vikes were always warmer and more comfy to me than oxy, although the latter is at time more euphoric (that is until I found dope, now oxy doesn't even work...havne't had hydrocodone in a while, so I couldn't say in relation to that) but only in short durations or waves.

oxy160 you are COMPLETLE right. i can only dose hydro ONE time a day and "feel it" im addicted so if i take them i take them every 4 hours. actualy ive jsut started taking them every 1 12 hours. take 8 norcos and wait twelve hours and its actualy workignr eally well! i gues the subs helped me lower my tolerance.
anyhow my point was......they are only good for getting high, or for breakthrough pain in my opinion. cause youve only got one shot at it, and if you dont get high your jsut fucked.

bippoar-hey friend, there is NO way that oxy is 50% stronger than hydro. NO POSSIBLE way. me and my friends all feel that hydro is MORE powerful though i KNOW the charts state that oxy is 1.5 times as strong. so ill go with that. but not 50 :) your DEFINATLY right about it lasting longer than oxy. i hate how oxy is s shorrt and so hard to nod on.
cimetidine and grapefruit: these work AMAZING for me witth morphine. mostly grapefruit. with hydro, i find grapefruit juice better than cimet as well...and it DOES help, but not as much as it helps with morphine/heroin.......
antihistamines are a good addition. they actualy give a rush of their own, and quell side effects while making you nod harder.
benzos, and opiate sto me are peanut butter and jam. they have to go together but yes for newbies be VERY VERY VERY WARY of your doses, if at ALL.

only other things id like to add are SOMA: this shit is amazing with or without opiates.

DXM-REALLY DOES WORK/Prevents tolerance, and adds to/slightly changes the buzz. the combo of this and opie and antihistamine and weed is quite mind blowing.

weed. if i dont smoke weed i dont feel effects from any opiates at all. once i smoe a hit though, i start itching hard. it may be psychological partialy for me but its also medicaly sound.....THC potentiates morphine at least, and im almost 100 percent positive all other opies. i know it makes hydro into a mass nodder.
:)
peace i hope taht helped at all

oh dude i TOTALY FEEL you. hydro is WAY warmer than oxy. way more comfy. also, MY dose has NEVER changed either! well.....it did from my virgin dose. but once i soon worked my way up to 8 norcos......thats the dose it takes me every day for hte past nearly decade..around 7-8 yeras. i dont know why but my dose never goes up and ive had the same script ALL these years. doctor find it odd that i never ask for an increase.
seem im also like you in that i need WAY more oxy than hydro to get high. oxys hard for me to nod on at all. but yeah 320 mg oxy will make me feel closer to 80-100 mg hydro. it also is a tricky drug. your right. tricky describes it PERCFECTLY
peace

hydrocodone/vicodin Question

last week i got my hands on oxycodone, and i have taken it a few times allready, but i dont seem to get much effect from it, rather then just feeling tired when taking a high dose (80mg) and not much from taking something like 40mg
i tried chewing and snorting, the best i could get out of it was some weird feeling, but no euphoria yet..

i did read about you need to get used to opiates, so i'm wondering is it possible that i still need to get used to them?
do i need to keep taking them to get something out of it?

i know the oxycodone is legit, so that aint the problem, but i'm a newbie to opiates

It took me a couple of years to appreciate opies, no bullshit. Sometimes still they don't work - but I've got this weird reverse tolerance thing anyway. I don't have really much by way of advice for you, except to say that for me it can still be hit and miss.

Try a slightly lower dose, have a hot bath, and then try to have a nap. Don't move, try not to think about it. I find doing stuff (anything activity at all) can really kill an opiate buzz.
