Hello Everyone!
My name is Jennie & I'm new here. I have been reading a lot of info on here but have never posted or registered until now. Let me give you a little background on me. On 3-17-13 I was riding my motorcycle with 2 others & was hit head on by an F150 truck who crossed the center line. Myself & another rider, which was my husband, were airlifted to the nearest trauma unit. I had a large laceration on my forehead & a concussion. If I had not been wearing a good helmet, would not be here today. My eye socket & nose were broken. I had a few cracked ribs & a chest tube was placed due to a collapsed lung on the right side. I had numerous cracks in my pelvis which were pretty darn painful & my collarbone was cracked. My left leg had a tibial plateau fracture (my knee cap was broken) & I had a shattered ankle which now has 3 plates & 27 screws. My right leg had a tib/fib fracture toward the ankle & the right knee was destroyed inside, which resulted in a total knee replacement. My left hand, wrist & last two fingers were also broken. I have a brachial plexus injury to my right arm/shoulder, which caused a winged scapula. I was non-weight bearing on both legs for over 3 months & wheelchair bound for almost 4 months. Thank God for my wonderful mother. She took care of me for almost a year. She is an angel! Riding was truly a passion for me, a way of life. So at this point I am still trying to pick up the pieces of what is left & figure out how to live this new way of life. I've always had anxiety & depression but now its a little worse. I use to work in the healthcare field for almost 13 years at a local hospital as a CNA II, but I can no longer be on my feet for 8 to 12 hours a day, but now I have a boring desk job working for a warranty administrator. So I have a little healthcare experience & knowledge that can hopefully help others out. I no longer ride motorcycles either. A lot of what I enjoy was taken from me that day. I got a life changing experience & the man who hit us got a ticket for crossing the center line... I come across this site while looking for some info on some of the medications I am on & joined. I hope I can help people with my bit of knowledge & experience.
I live in NC near the beautiful mountains. I love the outdoors, animals, music & reading. I really enjoy tattoos & body piercings also. I use to love hiking, but I have to keep it really light now if I go. I still love riding dirt though, either the 4 wheeler or the Razor, especially when we go spend time in WV. I would love to chat with some of you & hopefully make some new friends!
