Definetly go for the vaporizer. If you have the money, buy a volcano. I did it because of the same problem with my lungs.
I haven't got a H habit btw.
But seriously, I was smoking constantly for 8 years, also 3last years super heavy. I was smoking joints and it hurt my throat and lungs, but I felt I needed something to keep me grounded, aka weed.
I was stoned all day, using 5+grams a week of some pretty nice Silver Haze. But it was interfering with my life. Then I got the Volcano, my saviour. I went from 5+ to 3 grams a week, with LESS time being spent stoned and MORE time with a more clearer high, allowing for more work. I gradually tried to use less, which is very possible because this machine will get you high EVERY time, as if it was the first time. Now I'm using 25-75 MILLIGRAMS (organic weed, yes, no cannabinoids..) per session and I get even more high than before.
If you don't have the money, start saving to buy it, and for now make your own lightbulb vaporizer. It's WAY better than a bong. If you don't know how to make it, buy it online or in a headshop, it costs 20€ where I live.
The volcano is expensive, I know. But I have people over at my place sometimes who have bought other vaporizers (ranging from 100-400€) and they *all* say they should have spent the extra cash and got the volcano.
This is where arts meet science meets spirituality. People think I'm a salesman for Volcano Vaporizers, it's not true. I'm just that big of a fan.
You can also vape other herbs, like program yourself to enjoy a balloon of mint/thyme/basil/whatever. Try it !
Btw I *think* you can order the volcano on their website, pay for it, receive it and if you don't like it you can send it back and get your money back. This was 3 years ago when I bought it, I don't know if they still have this action. Says something about their confidence about the product.
Or get a
VapeXHale Cloud- that seems to be the rage with people lately. All-glass vapor path, and water filtration, plus it's not huge, and is semi-portable, unlike the
Volcano- which is a desktop/tabletop vape.
I recently purchased a few different vaporizers... First got an
LSV (Life Saber Vaporizer- A really good vape, too), but had a sensitivity to the ceramic used- the heating rod, which happened to be in the "mostly glass path" that was advertized. I failed to see this prior to ordering, but the purchase got me a new weed hook-up, so it worked out well. I was in a store and was talking about it, and about selling it, and he wanted it right then. Cheapest high quality weed I've found, and has been mostly consistent- sometimes from medical growers up north (his preferred source- otherwise he sources from around here). It fell on the exact same day my previous guy said that that was the last time to buy from him- as he was having a girl with a 1-year old move in, and yada.
Anyways, then I tried the
Vapolution Vaporizer... which takes some practice... and the dial to turn it on/adjust the heat on mine doesn't work a darn. It's always a guessing game with it, and it's hard to load it. You can't really load a good amount in, the bowl-transfer wand is really thin, and it's hard to get a good air-flow. it is possible however. I just found the wand buried in my couch- just now, after a couple of months loss... I'll give it another go, after learning- while on 25D-NBOMe, how to use the narrow paths. You have to hit them like joints... letting air in through your mouth, not just the path. Otherwise you're not getting a good hit, and you're giving yourself a headache.
I bought a pocket vape by the same company, and wasn't satisfied until I tried it while tripping on 25D. I had reverted again back to smoking joints- not satisfied with the experience of the vapes, but then tried smoking on that drug, and was met with very sharp pain throughout my chest, and left arm. I was already experiencing a lot of vasoconstriction. It was hard to get a good breath. Gave it a shot, and understood- in my altered state, how to draw the hits in. I continued to vaporize for the next couple of hours, tiny hits, just loving the taste it brought. Pain and fear turned to smiles, and somewhat of a very light bliss, for what I could do. The vasoconstriction that was, was minimized. I could breath- even, again.
Medicine, if used properly.
My body totally rejected the smoke- though, and I think it's happening now. I'm very glad to have found that glass bowl/path... but it won't work for long.
I really want that
Cloud. It's the only fully all glass path-automatic-water filtered contraption out there. Built by guys who had tried out a lot of vaporizers, bringing the best of many, and hopefully none of the bad. Everyone seems to like them.
In the mean-time, I am in need of one... I don't know what I'm going to do. My lungs are hating the smoke. Not even a full day off (weed man dry) and I already feel better. I may splurge and purchase the Cloud... but I have bills to pay, so I need to save my money. Perhaps in the meantime I'll go for something like a
Gnome, or
Vapocane- both torch powered vapes. Both well reviewed. And both around 30-50 bucks depending on optional accessories (the Cane is just 30, though- so if you've already got a bong, this is not a bad option at all).
Negative about the
Volcano is you don't have the all glass path, although the parts are rated to withstand temps... you still aren't going to get the pure taste you'd get from all glass...
Cloud/Volcano roughly same price. Although, no,
Volcano is potentially about 200 more, I think, depending on model (USD).
Oh, also- one must consider how they want to take in their vapor. Do you really want to just bag it? That's about the only option you have with the Volcano. Cloud doesn't have this option, though... but you can hook it up to just about any glass bong/contraption.
And, I just saw you made a purchase. Did not read whole thread. What did you get?
