Thanks very much for the nice comments everyone. This is my 1st attempt to get free of methadone and today is not quite as bad just a slight backache so maybe there is a light at the end of this. I do realize I have probably a long way to go because of my lenghth of being on it....25 friggin' years! It embarrasses me to say that, I feel like an idiot being on so long.. It was a big mistake IMO to get on it in the 1st place because my friends and I were doing mostly dilaudid and it's usually a 3 day kick they say. But we got on the done program and stayed! At the end I was receiving my supply of diskits once a month so I started saving parts of my daily dose and walked off the clinic. So I had a lot when I started tapering down from 110mg. a day to 10mgs. in a little over three months and thats when I started feeling some withdrawal at 10mgs. so thats when I quit.I flushed the rest of the diskits! I never would have done that just a few months ago but I'm bound and determined to get it out of my body for good. I'm excited to start a new life without any drugs or alcohol!! I believe tapering down is the definite way to go! I wouldn't think of going cold turkey on 110! Thanks to all for any advice you can give me for reducing these horrible WD symptoms. I did have to go to my DR. the second day. I had never told him about the done but he was so cool about it.I'm lucky to have a Doc like him.He said he had 11 patients in the same boat. He asked if I wanted meth. pills to taper futher down or Suboxone or Clonidine and xanax. I said no more Done,I'll try the Clon. and Xanax. So, The meds did help some but I still have back pain and sometimes that awful feelings in my arms and legs. Even with the Xanax ..not much sleep the last 5 days....sorry for ramblin but I wanted to tell the whole story..Thanks,Andy
