MXE (Farewell my lovely)

@fubar, its nothing new. remember back with mdma someone couldve been randomly decapitated by a sword swinging maniac yet if they had ingested ecstasy at some point that day it was attributed to the drug. i recall leah betts' parents touring the schools airing their tragedy - nobody had the stomach to point out it was the quite unbelievable amount of water consumed by their daughter that led to her death - itself the result of a hysterical drink or die 'safety' campaign in response to mdma. the same happens with heroin, very few overdose cases are down to the drug in of itself but rather the use of alcohol and/or benzos on top - yet the cause of death almost always is attributed to heroin alone. people like neat and tidy conclusions that fit into their preordained worldview, whereas the truth is usually more muddied

Investigative journalism is dead, journalists will publish any old drivel, filled with hearsay and bullshit from 'experts' in whatever the issue is who know fuck all about it.

^ the ubiquitous sensationalist approach of the british press is the cancer behind a multitude of ills ranging from why drug policy is a decade behind scandinavia to the continued failure (through pressure and witchhunts) of the english football team. one wonders how much better we'd all feel if the entire industry simply ceased to exist

The number of deaths caused by reckless behaviour while intoxicated on alcohol is a lot more than two.
