Music for Rolling

I meant who influenced Aussies to listen to hardstyle? It is known overseas but nowhere near widespread as other types of music.

I'm not sure what you mean; who influenced anyone to listen to any music? I think in this day and age especially, anyone can find any music very easily - through youtube or torrent sites or whatever. I don't think it's as simple as asking who influenced 'Aussies' to listen to a certain genre of music - what music becomes popular is due to a whole range of factors. IMO, I think it's interesting to consider what cultural factors there are in Aus that make certain genres more popular than others, rather than who influenced or introduced music somewhere.

Well, I'm from the Busselton / Dunsborough area of WA. I've done my fair share of MDMA. I've never heard it used once in my group. Gurning might get dropped. Pinging might get dropped. Usually we just say we're "on".

yeah most people in WA tend to add some sort of slang.somtimes when im fucked up hard i'll say im pingin balls or somthing like that.there soooo much slang for drugs here.i just want people to crack meth it shits me off sooo much, and pills MD pills most people dont have a idea of what there taking -_-.i try to educate on the drug but they dont get it.
different names for MD pills: rounds disco treats pinngas pills.the list goes on and on.......

end rant

Yeah your right I should of added "what" more so than who influenced aussies to listen to a specific type of music. For example in the US a large number of african americans listen to rap and that has certainly influenced a lot of different cultures including caucasians. The house scene especially in Eastern Europe has taken off at a very large rate. I suppose the demographics / location of people may also be play a big part pf it. There are a whole bunch of factors. Im just really curious as to why alot of Australians go crazy over hardstyle and Dubstep. I mean why dont they go crazy over rap or other types of music? It makes u wonder.

the rap I like to listen to is usually just taking the best part of an older song and adding a drum pattern to it.

Add in some scratching and a rapper who doesnt just drop F bombs and it gets pretty sweet man

A lot of people just look at it as a no talent required job but Id like to see those people find old music (thats why they call it diggin in the crates, its crates of old records) and turn it into something just similiar enough to recognize the sample, but unique enough to be its own song.

Right on..... To a point anyway. I hate it when people call hip hop rap. Sorry if I offend you,
I love hip hop, real hip hop not the wack shit getting around. It pretty much started off from Harlem or the Bronx, dudes rappin over the instrumentals on funk and soul albums cos they had no instruments to play because they got taken out of the schools due to funding cuts. Anyone that says there is no talent in hip hop is a dickhead. It's a lot harder to make a beat from
Samples and to spit a good rap that doesn't come out sounding like some wack shit.
Good shit to listen to while on the md is stuff like nightmares on wax or Pete rock, tribe called quest, dj shadow, r2d2, kid koala, dr octagon, madlib, j dilla, mf doom, danger mouse, heaps of UK HIP HOP, aus stuff like trem, lyrical commission, resin dogs, brad strut, low budget, general knowledge, downside. You need a good even spread of party hip hop, the head nodding shit,

Thats cool man, I do listen to a lot of those guys like Pete Rock is one of my favorite producers.

I dont fully agree with why people putting down gangster rap though. Honestly, thats where most of the memorable instrumetals come from IMO. And if you think its all just fake, while the rapper himself may not be doing all the shit he says (and some actually did which is the wild part), I can guarantee you the shit described in rap music does happen all the time in US cities.

rap kills my buzz when im rolling, all the fast talking and anger/"hardness" to the voice really piss me off while on MD,im not the biggest rap/hip hop fan but i dont mind some aussie hip hop groups,i saw bliss en eso with a head full of acid after watching AC slater play a set and that was a really good time.rap would definitely be looooooooooooooow on the list of the music i play when rolling.its electro or nothin :p

Hey man thats the beauty of music, everyone sees it differently. I can try to explain why not all rap is fake until im blue in the face but I just dont care enough anymore. But if you listen to the right stuff, it will click eventually why so many people like it.

Not to mention there's a lot of closet rap lovers. People who jam out in their car by themselves to it but wouldnt list it as something they really listen to. Again, I just dont care enough to lie about it. I like rap music, im white, fucking cry about it.

Bringing race into it only perpetuates what the Civil Rights movement was trying to erase

Stimulants are very popular in Aus and hardstyle music goes hand in hand with it imo, when I'm tweaking all I want to hear is hardstyle or hardcore

haven't rolled properly in years.
first time proper face munching was on green mitzi's too Scot Project at a Pharmacy event at Traffic.

now that I'm a wholehearted hardstyle and slowly becoming moreso hardcore, I'd love to hit up a good sesh to see how it goes.

had plenty of half good beans at Defqon 09 and 10, but I can't really gauge it at such a large festival. needs a good.homie sesh and a playlist.

if swim is lucky enough to get hold of a yellow Nintendo i will certainly put it to the test.

anyway, post virginity broken. (long time lurker thou)
