no, they are usualy at least 6inches long (BIG HEALTHY FRUITS!!) but those who pick them do so befor they spread there viel (which is when your SPOSED to pick them).

I dont even think they are any particular strain, prob wild picked decades ago, spore printed and then fruited and selectively printed. hell some are as long as your arm.


this one time, I found a completely black mushroom, I ate half and gave a pretty girl at a show the other half, the whole mushroom only weighed 1.2 grams. we both triped as if we each ate an 1/8 that fucker was so ugly, so black... ummmmm it tasted bitter as hell too.

anyway, back on topic. i love low dose mushroom trips, but it depends on the person and how sensitive you are to the substance. it's a much more natural and mellow feeling to low dose LSD, where i normally feel electric.

That is EXACTLY how I describe the differences between them- I feel like on LSD my trip has had an electric current running through it, like I've gotten zapped or something. I like it though... I've noticed that a lot of synthetic things give me that feeling though.

Out of curiosity, does it resemble a low dose mescaline trip? Brightened colours, breathing, slight morphine, nature looking fantastic and a general all round glow?

I love small doses of shrooms, a gram of p.cubensis just seems to lift my mood and make life a lil brighter. I hate low doses of acid and most other psychs though, shrooms is different

A low dose of mushrooms, one that's not big enough to produce visual / audio distortions, seem like it could be a really nice euphoriant (I just made up that word 8) ) and almost, if you don't get too much headfuck from them, which I don't seem to these days, a social lube

i always eat 1,5 - 2g of P. semilanceata and for me it is ideal dosage fo full psychodelic experience. higher doses produce strong dizzyness and anxiety and i always end trip saying "i don't know anything". lower doses (0,5-1g) are waste for me, it's "nor nothing, nor something". mushrooms are my drug of choice, i eat them at least 2 times a year, always in country side. it has very good influence on normal life. I recomend it everyone.

Ingested roughly 1g of mckennai mushrooms (almost 99% certain that they actually were mckennai), had an anxious come up and ended up drinking 500ml of whisky just to get my head straight. Ended up having a very profound trip, not overly intense visuals saw some wonderful geometric patterns and a bit of warping/morphing, but a lot of wonderful abstract thought, a lot of which I wrote down, and a lot of which I simply remembered.

Woke up the next day feeling absolutely wonderful, and I'm still feeling pretty damn good now. Think a low dose trip was just what I needed. That was an experience I won't forget lightly, and one I wholeheartedly want to try again. I didn't feel as connected to nature as I do on mescaline, but I felt a lot of love and insight from the mushroom, like it was trying to teach me something; it did. Great experience

I had a low dose mushroom experience just the other night. I went into it with my only intent being to determine the strength of my mushrooms and ended up having a great time.

dosed a gram, might have even been slightly under a gram while my girlfriend was pleasantly sleeping next to me. I felt a slightly warm tingly body high which made the bed very comfertable. I experienced a very usefull degree of introspection. I came to realize some things that I should do to help my relationship with my girlfriend and also help my life, realized I need to spend more time with my mom and dad. even felt a nice euphoria from music on my ipod.

it was a nice and usefull experience. what was great about it was I didnt jump off the deepend, I just sat there feeling half sober half psychedelic while putting a magnifying glass on myself and my life. lasted for about a little over 2 hours then i just got the munchies and went to bed.

I have no doubt in my mind that a low dose of these mushrooms through out a regular day would prove to be very useful, weathor it be for writing a paper for school or writing a song for pleasure.

It would be nice if you guys mentioned witch type of schroom we are talking about.. The difference is huge, lets take Cubensis vs. Azurenscens...

But low doses for me, is more annoying if I don't brake just a little bit through - feels restless, it's not a big irritation, but enough to make me not do low-dose trips anymore, 1,5g Cubensis is as low as I would go.
But for schroomvirgins, don't go higher the first times....

low recreational doses of shrooms

Anyone know what effect taking low doses of shrooms (1/16 and under) recreationally, as in once a week or more, would have on you? Would taking psilocybin this often have any negative effects if the dose was always low?

Psilocybin tolerance takes effect extremely fast...I can recall when I was 17-18 years old, I acquired an unlimited supply of the mexican cubensis mushrooms that were extremely potent...One time in particular, I ate 6 grams and had a mind blowing experience, then a day later took 4-5 grams and barely felt anything besides a body high...

Once a week might be a long enough break to avoid tolerance but I personally used to love low dose mushroom experiences...The body high they produce is bliss...

yeah maybe it won't hurt that bad but the magic might be gone forever, if one trips every week several times.

besides, pesonally i don't like to consume low doses, because imho there's nothing worse than to start phasing out but not being able to truely let go.

The tolerance for most psychs is 3-10 days, YMMV much.

No health effects that I'd be aware of. Trust me, a lot of people here trip a bit more than that haha. Even a higher dose wouldn't hurt ya.

Surely there must be some mental effects of taking psychedelics more than once a week. If most people here don't have any problems then they're very lucky - do these very regular trippers hold down successful jobs and have stable family lives?
I feel a decrease in mental stability and intelligence if I even have a light trip more than once a fortnight, and have some residual visual distortions. I often get worried that more often would cause problems Obviously it depends on genetics.. but I always wonder what heavy users do in life!

^i used to take psychadelics very very frequently for a fairly long stretch and didnt notice any residual negative effects, taking them several times a week reduces their effects greatly. However i did not have a regular "job" during that period so that certainly helped.

OP, you will be fine taking small doses weekly.

I took medium to high doses of shrooms once a week for several months, and never noticed any tolerance or bad effects.
Low doses are really wonderful, to me. They give me insight, inspiration, and a touch of (borrowed) wisdom without taking me too far from "home". I have enjoyed low doses many times - even with tiny doses, such as 0.2 grams, I felt something, and I considered it worth it.

I took shrooms a couple times a week for about a year or so and never noticed any negative effects health wise. There a very safe psychedelic if you treat them with respect. I find psych's can get kinda boring if you use them to often though. I like to keep my routine fresh and I alternate drugs every few months now
