Doing mushrooms your first time is a very precious and unrepeatable major life event. I would not treat it like a lightweight party like that. I would avoid the beach. I would avoid anyplace you will be encountering non-tripping strangers in public. I would avoid even a large crowd of tripping friends like that. Take it from a long time veteran - shrooms can get wierd and one person having even a minor strange episode can send the whole thing spiraling off in unfun unpleasant regretful directions. I would save srooms your first trip for INDOORS (or a remote quiet camping trip) with just you and one or two other experienced guides... doing them with othersdoing them 1st time is really not good... your thoughts will be drawn by natural social tendencies in our monkey brains to obnsessively focuson THEIR state of well being and experience and you will all be doing this and everyonewill miss out on what a first trip really wants to show you.
That said... if doing it with a group at the beach is part of the "package" of getting to do shrooms the first time heres my advice.
Yea visual toy can be sorta fun, but ultmately a distracton from better pursuits.
MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF ALL: Tunes. Spacy classic psychedelic rock. Yes - Close to The Edge absolute ecstasy, Going For The One (song "Awaken" especially spinetingling and awesomely psychedeic, considered by many their finest masterwork), Neil Young Rust Never Sleeps live in concert, what an energy and so many gorgeous & touching and devastating classics stunningly played... version of "Like A Hurricane" the guitar solos oh my fucking god even straight that sends shivers down your spine even if you are into other styles... no one rocks like tha these days... they really tapped into something. Those albums on the beach doin shrooms first time with a group of pals and your life will ne ver be the same.
Try to make space though to just sit and be quiet, listen to the music... too much tomfoolery with friends seems fun but can easily distract you from the real power of the drug which is *INSIDE YOU* and can easily turn to mindfuck wierdness... The sound of the ocean yea nice on shrooms but all that white noise is not necessarily a good thing... well composed masterpieces like the above will give a background of content and meaning that will absolutely improve the experience, provide a "movie soundtrack" that wll keep your thoughts on a good path and away from some of the wierder mental corners that can ensnare you on shrooms if you are not careful.
