I always used to go pick in Amersham, it was always pretty good. Cba to treck out there from NE London now though...especially as the season looks kinda weak this year. If you find any report back and I might take a trip up for myself :)

We've had a frost or two up here lately, and it's definitely moist enough - Both rain and humidity wise - for the little lovely blighters to be popping out of the ground, but I'm so lacking in motivation to walk a mile and a half up an extremely steep road to get to them this year.

Ah well, next time Gadget..
 
NATURE DOES NOT use a calendar, i have picked 16th December before people.... they are coming. after 20 years experience please let me say... dont pick everything you see. Just give it hair cut and go back in 3 days for more...... xx
 
Thats a really encouraging little ray of light in the gloom of our famine silly_si_ben. Thankyou.. I think the last couple of years after sometimes checking my field daily I just gave up by November frosts but I think you could be right there! :)

East Sussex shrooms?

I'm new to these forums but not to taking shrooms :)

Anyone in East Sussex have any luck?

I'm near Uckfield and the Ashground Forest. So far I have found all the imposters but no libs. It has been mild, wet, and I'm looking in long grass, mossy patches, in and around rabbit and horse dung, even on chopped logs.

Where are the little bastards!?

Weird, I have spotted at least 20 different mushrooms growing all within 6 acres. It is still warm and wet here. Plenty of mossy grass, logs, dung, compost heaps but nada :(
 
today was a VERY beautiful day in my little organic field of sheep dreams. no industrials harvesting, no farmers AT ALL, no disturbances, first proper pick of the season ... not one other person around other than my 'partner in [not] crime' ... not even one dog walker ... t'was awesome.

probably 3 hours or thereabouts yielded very good things. temps were probably 12 degrees lowest and no wind. wind being the only weather that really fucks me off. I can take rain and freezing [and below zero] temps, but wind turns me into a raging homicidal c*nt.

going back first thing in the morning, to pick and to check out another little wrecked village on the Viking Way, so small it doesn't even get a road sign. the bestest kind <3 ...

if you're ever struggling to find 'shrooms in the UK, simply look on an OS map, and pick up the Viking Trail, and you'll soon strike it lucky. rape and pillage mustve gone hand in hand with shrooms, because the Vikings left us with a glorious path of spores in their wake.
 
not this one ... I just came back from this today a few hours ago ... there are pics tho .. can post a few when i've looked through em ... will have a look at the ones from last week too .. and last year for that matter ... some ace pics of sunsets as it's one of the highest points in the county [erm, 800 meters tops, which will pale compared to some of you welsh and scots]

and this is half the reason I dont like posting my face pics in the other thread ...because I'd rather post pics of this kinda stuff .. and you can't do both really .. given the legal situation etc.
 
Evening All,

Are people still finding stuff right about now? I'm hoping to go out Tues/Wed afternoon. As mentioned previously, I'm in the delightful channel islands so we tend to be a touch warmer down here than in the rest of the UK.

Never picked/consumed shrooms before so any pointers much appreciated. At £25 an E down here we're all about the free highs...;)

New Forest, South Coast - collecting some wood for a bonfire, and found about 100+ liberty caps in less than 10 minutes at a reliable place.

Heading back early tomorrow morning for a couple of hours to stock up for winter :)
