Mushroom season 2009

I have to say unless you are quite experienced I don't see cannabis making you throw up, I have smoked ALOT of dope in my time and never thrown up and rarely seen people green out but that was off less experienced smokers trying to keep up with very seasoned smokers.

Chemi I have taken some HUGE doses of mushrooms without throwing up, just as I have done lower doses and felt the need to throw up. I don't think there is some ceiling dose of mushrooms that makes people ill but really, thats pretty irrelevant to the situation I was referring to.

I was advising newbies to try LSD first if they can, even if high dose LSD is more hardcore than high dose mushrooms (I wouldn't know, done some hectic mushroom doses on my day but only moderate doses of LSD) it is not as if a newbie is going to go out and start experimenting with huge doses. Atleast I would like to think not, I certainly have tried to stress that psychs can be intense and you should take it on the easy side until you find your feet.

Your statement about LSD being more of a headfuck than mushrooms at high doses may hold true, but as far as advising newbies on the matter I don't think its really important either way.

i don't understand how you could say lsd is a headfuck where as mushrooms aren't? I've had my deepest, darkest most twisted thought processes on mushrooms. Doesn't matter how much you eat, it will always rape your brain. As for throwing up, only time with mushrooms was when we ate about 30 dry powder capsules. I think it was probably to do with my stomach being unable to digest so much dryness. I can eat fresh shrooms by the garbage bag and not feel sick. Vomiting with pot would just more likely be a green out wouldn't it?

sorry mate, on topic i heard of a small batch of goldtops being found leongather way about a week ago. Can't remember the name of that area but that way somewhere. Will get a picture off him tonight hopefully

Umm no way man, anybody who has done both will tell u that shrooms will have much much more headfuck and body load than acid. That is why id recommend beginners to do acid because mushrooms can get very very confusing and disorientating. Ive had sum very hard trips on shrooms, with acid hasnt really happened even with large doses.

first find

Hey All

Picked up my first shrooms from a local cow paddock here in se qld yesterday. about 12 small-medium sized ones. I know not many but just scratching the surface.
Made some tea for the first time, took a little longer than I read to come on but when it did was a fun afternoon..
Going to head back on the weekend to cover alot more ground.

I also advised newbies tried acid before mushrooms, I was responding to chemi's comment that high dose acid was more of a headfuck than mushrooms. I don't know how true that is because I have only done moderate doses of LSD.

My point was that even if it was true, its irrelevant when advising beginners as they wont be dosing high anyway, or atleast shouldn't be.

I assume shrooms would be more of a headfuck at any dose, but as I don't have the experience to back it up I am open to other peoples opinion.

Me thinks its either way too wet? or seasons over in SEQ numbers been dropping fast :(

If it is really wet, such as flooding..does it stop em growing?

I'm not sure, But I remember hearing somewhere that in times of flooding, the shroomz will seem to die down for a little while. but after it clears, the spores should've spread to more places, and be better in the long run.

Could someone else back that up, sure I remember hearing that lol.

^^^ uh yeah i reckon that kinda sounds right.

when a patch is flooded the mycellium stops growing. after a flood the ground can take a while longer to dry out than after rain, so it can take a while to return to good condition for the mycellium to once again start to grow. however, if this does happen and the season is stiil on, the flushes of fruit that grow can be quite substantial and lengthy.

i have known, however, entire, or parts of, patches to be washed away to who knows where. which in a way can be good, as it has the potential to spread further afield. these patches were the wood lovers tho, hard to imagine cow paddocks washhin away!! not unplausible tho!
cow paddy's, the poop, the dung, can by all means get a good soaking and be washed away to potentially start to grow fungi elsewhere. in the world of cubensis, there is a symbiotic relationship between cows, the cattle egret, and the mushroom, and other birds that dig in, overturn the dung etc. the birds either clean the cow of insects and get cover in spore, or they eat insects in, on and under the dung, and get covered in spore. the cubensis mushroom has spread a long way with these animals. so floating dung would seem very plausible way to spread mycellium and spore.

makes me wonder also, if bandicoots and native rodents etc have helped spread the wood lovers fungi spores in native forests and parks.

La Trobe students sell mushrooms to fund overseas trips.

OMFG. can you believe how stupid some people are.

first stupid enough to sell mushies

second stupid enough to use as a raffle prize

third and most importantly, stupid enough to advertise it, in a university paper of all places.

this is what i hate about younger mushroom users, the absolute disrespect for the mushroom as an organism, and disrespect for fellow mushroom users.
cuz u can be sure now that something will be done about the mushrooms that grow on campus. maybe total eradication , or increased security at said campus etc...who knows

but it cant be good

and then the person like me who quietly goes and picks a few without causing damage or raising suspicion misses out.

i was young once, i still think i am, and once , thats one time, i let some one know the whereabouts of a cubensis patch, and that farmer had so many pickers, he fungicided the paddock.

man i was crushed......my bad for tellin...
thankfully now, 15 years later, that patch works again, but it did not for at least 8 years.
i guess new cattle eventualy brought new spores or something like that, and after a few years the farmer stopped his eradication policy.

the uni might now do the same thing.

please fellow shroomers, respect the shroom, as an organism, as an entity, and respect the other shroomers out there. leave some behind. tap some spores when you pick, this is important, and evem try tapping spores elswhere. but most of all......DONT FUCKIN ADVERTISE...

what i hate more than this is , logging in, writing some fantastic prose, and then when i hit "post quick reply" it makes me log in again, and then my prose has vanished into the ether, like a mushroom cap down the throat of some hungry uni student.
