Mushroom season 2009

Haha mate, after the rain today... give it some time and some sun and head down to your spots. You should be pretty happy ;)
 
I am very knowledgeable with shrooms. First of all dont dry ur shrooms in the oven and also DO NOT use a fan to blow over them. To dry them properly u need calcium chloride. Not going to say where u can buy it from but im sure everyone walks past it almost everyday.

I have to disagree but indoor shrooms will be always more potent than outdoors. Direct sun light/heat and other weather conditions destroy the main 4 actives. (Yes there are 4 actives in mushrooms). Fresher shrooms will be always more potent as it hasnt been exposed to oxidization.
 
^^ Thanks for that information and I certainly know where the calcium chloride is haha.

I did not know that the fan method was bad. Lesson learned. Is there a method to using CC?

I think the point that drug_mentor was trying to make wasn't that an indoor grown mushroom wouldnt be stronger than a wild mushroom of the same species, because natural degradation definitely means that wild mushrooms will lose some potency -- but rather that in his opinion, the most common GROWN shroom (cubes) are probably not worth the effort when there are stronger shrooms to be easily found in the wild. Which is fair enough.

Hehe im not arguing with his points, he is very knowledgeable. Yea i thought he meant that cubes arnt worth it compared to other stronger species which are 3 times more potent. I luv cubes. Each species have different effects as they have different ratios of actives in them.


Tripman: Dump calcium chloride in a dark lockable container then place a wire mesh on a stand high so it wont be touching it and place shrooms on that.
 
From a harm reduction perspective (all legalities aside) I think it is ill advised to understate the benefit of home cultivated mushrooms - there are no second chances if you pick a poisonous mushroom.

Not that I plan on actually using any this season, if you've read my thread you will understand why, but I shall pass this on to my friends.
 
After all this rain we've been having I do feel that their amounts will be substantial lol.
 
haha after the recent rains, i walked into my backyard this morning, sparked up a ciggie, coffee in hand, looked down to find 5 med sized shrooms looking at me, have to say the house has never been cleaner and how awesome is it doing house work off your face...

im sure the season has started, next time they pop up, ill take pics and start the 2010 thread.

I dreamt about shrooms the other night.
I remembered back to when I was in primary school we used to always kick these mushies that used to grow there.

I can completely remember what they looked like after the dream. We used to kick gold tops, Might have to head down to the old primary school and see if they still grow down there :P
 
will get a photo up later on when i get in from my mate, but found well over 100 gold tops in melbourne se suburbs. We accidently found them on a bike ride!
 
Damn, got some reading to do! Would love to know how to pick my own shrooms.

Sure saves buying them like i have! But knowing my luck i'd pick the only poisonous one in the paddock :/
 
Today is a good day!
Today it has stopped raining and the sun is out and shining!
And so today I shall pick cubes until I can carry no more, store a dozen in the fridge for the weekend and then dry several dozen more!
Mushrooms season 2010 is here!
 
^I thought they were all fucked from the sunlight by this time of day? That's why all the trippers go hunting early in the morning. Or are you harvesting from your cupboard?
 
aahh depends, on a number of factors,

a) on a nice sunny day with a cool breeze blowing it makes them easier to spot, as their white stalks with blue highlights stand out

b) it drys them a bit so the caps open up a bit more

c) i hate mushy hunting in the rain, ive slipped on cow poop to many times

d) on a nice day if all goes well, sitting on your back punching the sky in a park is an awesome way to pass the time.

p.s i found just under 20 small/med sized today, gonna spore print them see if i can make my private patch larger..

Thanks for that, is it the same for forest growing species? I have so much to learn about this stuff.
