Mushroom season 2009

Hey I just want hear some feedback from people in adelaide, im going to try go for a hunt not this weekend but next one hopefully I hope I wont be too late=(
 
I haven't been myself (was going to go last Sunday but damn Uni and assignments!! :( ) but I've heard from a few sources that it's not full on but it is getting there :) Goodluck, give it a bash.
 
Went south of Perth last weekend overnight, not too much around thats for sure. Walked about 50 kms down a track where previously i had found many a mushroom, but this time found only two! We scored one patch of about 30 psilocybin cubensis (to our suprise) literally directly next to where we pulled up our car. That's about as far as our luck travelled. For those picking in the West i'd advise waiting another month atleast to avoid wasting the tremendous amount of fuel that we managed to.

Went for a pick today, got <20 good ones, there was triple that dying, shitty looking ones but meh. Didn't have a torch so couldn't be fucked hitting all my patches with a phone light.

I tell you what, they have put prison style fences on my old highscool wchich is supposed to be blowing up, was gonna pull some mission impossible shit across the rooves until a cleaner detected our presence.

No matter though, peak season is nigh, and in the past I have always acquired more than I could possibly know what to do with. I have read of shit blowing up right now, this is not the case for my patches but alas it is only a matter of time. Happy tripping and shrooming people, I hope your bags end up more full than mine did tonight!
 
Just a question, is there anywhere around Melbourne that shrooms *don't* grow? I was in the (far) Northern suburbs the other day and there were some kids talking loudly about shrooming - if that's the case I might pop back for a look once it's colder and rainier :)
 
Just curious, considering trying shrooms and from what i have read i gather you can eat them dried or fresh? when people say 2.5g is a good dose to start with i'm assuming this is dried.
can you measure the dose fresh or would this just come as guessing from experience, or is it better just try dry them and be done with it.
 
DrazzilB, when people say 2.5G for a dose they do mean dried, if you want to weigh out wet shrooms 2.5 grams would be closer to 25 grams. If you want long term storage you have to dry them out, if you just want to have a trip with you and a few mates the day you pick them or maybe the day after then there isn't much point in drying them at all.
 
just quickly, would there be any specific species that one would want to look for the in the far NorthWest of Victoria (murray forest country to be precise)? Im heading that way in a few days, and its just had a good old rain on the weekend just been. How long does it take for them to shoot up after a good rain? Day's? weeks?
 
^ Same species as the rest of Victoria, Psilocybe Subaeruginosa. They will be up a few days after a good rain, maybe a week or so to reach full maturity.

Picked up 100 last weekend and the weather has been great this week.

Expect to be surprised in the coming days :)
 
I think I may have found some in a big pine plantation down towards Sale... They aren't turning blue though? Is this a problem? Or do not all species turn blue...

I've tripped twice before and these mushies were found in different areas to the ones I have now, and they turned blue straight away. I'm assuming its another species? Any help would be good... Shroomery has been down all day, so I can't get a proper ID. :(

If it doesnt turn blue forget it. All Psilocybes turn Blue.
 
Anyone know a website other than shroomery I can get an ID on? I'm still curious to know for sure.
