movies i'm supposed to have seen but have not

^I was going to say, I definitely don't feel like I was "supposed" to have seen that. lol. :D

I'm afraid you're probably right. It's just that these hickabillies at work make reference to that movie at least once a week, so I get the distorted impression that it's some sort of blockbuster.

I can't believe Citizen Kane is the best movie ever.

For all of the people that think it is, what did I miss? The time I saw it I was so bored I fell asleep. The build up was way too long, and what did it build up to? The only part that made me feel any emotion was when he smacked down his girl, and when they found rosebud.

The movie sucks... don't waste your time/money.

Casablanca is pretty decent, better than Citizen Kane, but not the second best movie ever. Maybe I just missed something.

Still, imo, the best movie I have seen is Once Upon A Time In the West. It's very long, but the first 30 minutes makes it worthwhile.

back on topic...

One Flew Over the Cuchoo's Nest
Taxi Driver
Raging Bull

omg there are so many! its sad....

like: most of david lynch's stuff

a couple martin scorsese's flicks: 'taxi driver', 'casino'

'brazil'

heaps of international films

'breakfast at tiffinies'(sp?)

all the terminators

and much much more. its sad but there's some good films in there, and it's the holidays so i've got all the time in the world now. hehe, yay! i'm excited =D

The movie that everybody's seen but you...

For years my friends, reviewers, and those out in cyberspace have been singing the praises of The Godfather.

Yet i have never seen it......it's been on my "to see" list for years, but i haven't gotten around to it yet. The Shawshank redeption was the same, but i finally got around to seeing it last year.

What film has everybody else seen (and recommended) but you haven't gotten around to seeing yet?

donnie darko:

Everybody has been pushing me to check this one out, and I do really believe that I'd like it, its just that the person who was most adamant about it, and also first to sing its praises liked blues brothers 2000 more than blues brothers.

Human Traffic
Supertroopers (probably didn't even spell it right)

I know there are like 10 more but I can't think of any at the moment.

Human Traffic

Let me add to the chorus and suggest this as movie you have to see! It requires no concentration, especially if you're a clubber and familiar to the scene...it could well be your life playing out before you...

I also didn't see the first or third LOTR and wished that I hadn't bothered with the 2nd one - which I walked out on before the end.

I wish i'd walked out before the end of the first one. Except i went with a couple of friends so had to stick it out. I was constantly checking my watch every 5 mins, which is never a good thing, coz it makes the move go 10x slower.

^^^^^^
It sounds like you and karmacoma aren't a fan of fantasy movies.
The last movie I walked out on was Usual Suspects

There just wasn't enough action in it to keep me interested.

i recently had a discussion with a friend of mine and we got onto the subject of chitty chitty bang bang. i was amazed to find that, not only had he not seen it - he had never even heard of it.

i started to explain the whole thing - we were both high and he thought i was making it up!

:)
