Regarding Zoolander:

Never can understand what people see in that movie, after I saw that I wanted that 90 minutes of my life back.

Merman...
(*cough* , *cough*)
...Merman!

=D

Bad Boiz Bad Boiz Whatcha Gonna Do

just seen Bad Boys 2 ooh ooh yea! you'll feel like youve sat through something terrible, but the movie just has so many 'omg thats fantastic!!!' parts you'll want to cheer and cry all at the same time.

I'd highly recommend it to everyone just for the pure amount of cool shit in it; action sequences, cars, wardrobe, camera work, special effects, locations, brilliant semi-serious semi-comedy routines from the lead characters...

... but fuck if it doesnt get a little out of touch with reality %)

Alternates between 2 out of 10 and 9.9 out of 10.

"Current technology can create or achieve anything for a film. We are limited purely by human imagination" - Unknown director-type quote

P.S. I hated Zoolander with a passion and refused to watch it... then actually got force fed a viewing and its actually a brilliant piece of work :)

Kill Bill is must - a lot of the aus public have never seen anything like this on the screen before, if you havent yet - see this by the end of tomorrow, Tarantino rocks it.

^^ WORD UP !!!!

Kill Bill is the best movie i've ever seen. Great storyline, action scenes, cinematography and a cool soundtrack. I love the defiant look in Uma Thurman's eyes when she's holding the sword...

Cant wait for Volume 2

Watched two crap-tastic DVD's on Sunday, so thought I'd share:

Just Married ... a romantic comedy without comedy. Heaven knows why my bf actually wanted to see this, when he won't go near some *genuinely* funny movies like Notting Hill. :\ (it's the "Hugh" factor)

Taboo : never heard of it/seen it? Lucky you! No plot, ridiculous premise, the promise of sex on the back blurb but none whatsover in the actual movie. The kind of movie where you hear the gunshot but don't actually see anyone get shot... what's the fun of that. Boring to the extreme.

*Sigh* good DVD's, where are yooooooo????

Kill Bill was good, but by no means a great fillm like Pulp Fiction. The dialogue just isn't there, but it gets a away with it because Samurai movies are never really very intelligent movies. Uma Thurman is fucking hot and is a good actor, but a poor swordsman. It does look like they did do their best to hide this. I came out a little disappointed in the end only because the first half and hour or so was just awesome.

The Ring

Just saw this last night and I think I may have got about 4 hours sleep last night, I was so scared of my TV... but the most terrifying part for me in that movie had to be the screws coming up out of the floor and the seal moving over the well, oh yeah and the faces, and the frickin crawling out of the tellie thing.

Fuck - it was scary - but I had expected it to be scarier - have had it on my computer for months trying to get the nerve up to watch it.

Wasn't too satisfied with the story line though - needs more explaining.

I give it about an 8/10 because it is probably the best horror I have seen.

Spirited Away

My friend told me to watch this and said it was better than 'Shrek' or 'Finding Nemo' so I did. it is interesting and different and colourful and fun and I loved it... better than either of those other two... but it is not one that everyone would enjoy as much as me I dont think. Still it so rocked.

I give it about a 7/10 for a cartoon movie.

I liked the cube, looking forward to the sequal. I loved Donnie Darko. I love documentaries but i am amazed that so many people liked bowling for colombine. I hate that fat sarcastic wanker Michael Moore. He holds himself out as someone who sticks up for small people but he always ends up having a go at them. For example the employees of K-Mart. What have they got to do with gun control? The people that work at the stores don't even decide what they buy but he was willing to humiliate them on camera.
He seems really good at criticising everyone and everything. The only sensible person on the documentary was Marilyn Manson to my surpise.
p.s. HAs anyone else seen Japanese Story? I watched it yesterday and apart from having to seen Toni Collette attempt a sex scene it was pretty good although really sad. p.s.s. Who agrees Terminator 3 was a major disappointment?

kill bill
go see it. no, it's not (yet) as good as pulp fiction, and no, it doesn't contain the snappy dialogue of the aforementioned, motherfucker.

it does have some amazing fight scenes (hey wachowskis, check out the non-cgi!), and the dialogue is still trademark tarantino gallows-humour. and there's no better way to parody the ott violence and surreal lack of blood in most hollywood blockbusters than to ramp it up like qt has done, and it works a treat imo. i really liked this (not as good as pf or rd (perhaps) but better than jb...real good!

Ahh new tarantino movie is out *gets out wallet and runs to car*... I've been waiting for this for a while... Can't wait to see it...

As for the comment about uma's bad swordsmanship, she was pregnant during the filming - give her a break :)

Kill Bill is excellent, I saw it last night myself. I don't think anything could top Pulp Fiction anyway but it certainly came close.

It's the first of three movies too.

Uma's bad swordsmanship? Aaah come on. Thought the chick fighting scenes were brilliant. Uma rules.

Totally agree "Kill Bill" is value and quality that have been sadly lacking for some time. The dialogue might not be as snappy as some, but there's a few memorable moments. "My names Buck and I'm here to fuck"

Just a side note for any really pedantic cinephiles out there, who would know that in Pulp Fiction in the gun fight after the "say what one more time motherfucker" scene, a bullet hole goes missing. The same thing happens in Kill Bill, the bullet hole in the wall that comes out of the box of "Kabooms" cereal isn't in the following shot. Sorry for the spoiler.

Kill Bill.

Superb.
An original and entertaining action movie that reminded me of The Matrix. Not because of anything in particular, just that it was an incredibly enjoyable movie that was not at all from the the typical Jerry-Bruckheimer-School-of-Big-Explosions-Action-and-Predictable-Endings.

Go see it. It is really good. Really.

Saw Kill Bill today and fucking loved it. Part of me was kind of dissapointed with the whole black and white part in the middle. A friend told me this was because of censorship but to me it just seemed like a tecnique that QT would be likely to use.

Really pissed about the whole Part 1 thing. I am so looking forward to the next kill bill more than the next Lord of the Rings or Matrix movie...

^^^ yeah, i was wondering about the censorship/style issue with the b&w portion too, but it was definitely censored for all western audiences. go and watch it in japan and you'll get colour :)

first of *two* movies - it was originally one whole film but weinstein et al apparently gave qt the choice between cutting it down to one film, or releasing it as two, due to its length.

Yeah that really sucks now that I know it was because of censorship... The movie was fucking rated R I had my I.D. checked twice before I even got into the cinema and I am still not allowed to watch some people lose limbs in colour. It's up to fucking me what I want to or do not want to see...

Hopefully the DVD release will be uncensored... If not I'm going to be a victim of movie violence influencing my poor brain and I'm going to take a samurai and hack up all those fucking "what about the children?" wankers deciding what I can and cannot see.

*Ends rant*

Can't wait for volume two!

erm...2 corrections

1 - Uma wasn't pregnant during filming. They waited till she had her baby before filming.

2 - Spirtied Away deserves a much higher rating than 7.5/10 :p And it's not a cartoon!

Now..back to your regular viewing....

Do'h. Was thinking of Lord of the Rings or Matrix or something. Heh. Thanks.

I thought that seeing as I have seen this movie once a week since I was 17 (I shit you not), I should reccomend it.
