^ how did you come to that conclusion?

maybe i missed something, but if you're deducing that from the current vote tally, then your logical reasoning doesn't work correctly. according to bluelight... trainspotting is worlds better than gladiator, the difference between two other movies isn't greater than that of those two films, but that doesn't mean that trainspotting is the favorite of all these films by any means.

edit: there are greater differentials, so maybe i DID miss something?

the pulp fiction forrest gump match is like a 1 seed vs a 16 seed. hhahaha/
I voted for Pulp Fiction quite quickly, but I think Forrest Gump is a brilliant film. I thought there were several non-contests in there, easiest choice being Amelie over Requiem for a Dream and Amelie probably wouldn't even be in my top 250.

Godfather over Office Space, 2001 over The Breakfast Club, and personally, Apocalypse Now Redux doesn't even have to open it's eyes to absolutely crush American Beauty (which gets worse every time I see it, so I can't believe it's in front).

Conversely, there are some tight matchups for me. Orange vs. Fear and Loathing? Love both movies, but Orange is in my top 5. Goodfellas vs Casino is a great match up, and I hope Goodfellas and The Godfather can go head to head later on. Dr. Strangelove vs. Shawshank made me hesitate a little bit, same with 12 Monkeys vs. Full Metal Jacket.

I'm spewing I didn't get in on the nominations. I read the original thread about the idea when I was in China, but told myself I would leave my additions till I got back. Then I forgot all about it till I just noticed this thread now. Not that much was lost for me, there's 19 out of my top 100 here, not a bad strike rate without having any influence myself. But looking back, i'm disappointed my favourite movie wasn't even nominated once. Is there really no love for Lawrence of Arabia?
