Mother Arrested After 3-Year Old Child Reportedly Ingests LSD

Yeah I'd be suprised if this would really have any long lasting effects. Don't children at a very young age often block out negative events?

You simply do not know that blocked events always resurface at a later age. It's all speculation.

None of us have a clue what a psychedelic might do to a developing brain at the age of three. So, really, I don't see how we can make sweeping assumptions like "there shouldn't be any damage" or harm or what have you. We don't even know the exact mechanism of the psychedelic state, and we certaintly don't have a full understanding of the developing mind.

As far as I know, there wouldn't be any research yet on psychedelic states in developing minds, so we absolutely have no idea here. He could go autistic, for all we know, or suffer some kind of childhood disintegrative disorder. Maybe he will be fine. There's no research on this stuff yet.
 
I think it'll probably scar him about as much as losing his parents in a mall or overnight somewhere. Feelings of confusion and disorientation. Still not nice though.
 
What do you mean, developed enough, Ghost? Serotonin receptors are encoded within our DNA, they are the same protein configurations from fetus to adult.

first of all I live in a very nearby place and some bullshit is being passed around on sweet tarts being sold under the nickname "purple jesus" and "orange sunshine" first of all..only dumbasses would buy it because everyone knows that purple jesus is the famous alex grey blotter ...and the sweet tarts were bieng sold for like $5 each..i have personally tried them and they suck ass and the instant I placed it onto my tongue i knew it was not lsd clearly by the brown sappy substance on it, and the chemical taste, I felt no effects for like 2 hours then I jsut felt placebo effects..just felt a nasty body buzz and felt normal after a few hours...its being sold so cheap around here so when people dont trip they wouldnt be too pissed off cause they only paid 5 bucks and theyd figure they got a "bad hit".

I am 100% sure its the same shit and I am 100% sure it was not lsd....I have a strong feeling it was either LSA or some RC...

ps: notice how in the title it says "reportadly ingests lsd"...either they know it or they dont...they didnt even test any sweet tarts... I feel bad for the kid still none the less..

First off, Id like to say that of course, the parental unit (s) are totally to blame. They should have learned to keep all drugs (including otc's) out of reach from children. And what the fuck are they doing bringing a child to a party where LSD was being used or may be used. If some white trash wanna be hippie broad was toting her kid (s) over my house for a party... That shit wouldn't fly.

As for the small child, It's too bad he didn't take something like a normal sized dose of 2c-I or something along those lines. Who knows, they might of not had to involve any hospital. Another lesson learned way too late by a way undereducated drug user. Or should I say a drug "child" abuser.

She deserves any and all punishment that ultra conservative Texas state law will give her.

dont forget this was in the MEDIA. lets say my friend and his wife were in need of.. spiritual discovery. I happend to aquire some lsd and I invite them, there family and any other person over for some self therapy.

true the lsd should have been put away but people forget, esp. on LSD. what that again? there are only three side effects from lsd, increased long term memory, decreased short term and.... I forgot the last one. I have triped around kids and it's great, you see all this life emmitted from smiling faces. But johny law comes and see you and your friends spining around to drum beats and sudently it is no longer therapy but a party... a party in which a 3 year old was left unsuperviced. Though they could have just steped outside to enjoy the out doors, who knows.

Word to that, i have clear memories of when i was younger than 3 years old. shit that my mom never even told me about, when i was older i just asked her "rememer that time when _________" and shes like howd you know that. me like cuz i remember that. "you were 2 years old when that happened"

Small shit, like what color socks i was wearing or what the weather was that day, etc. there aint no question that i remember it, and it aint just some made up memories from hearin stories, etc. i remember some of the shit clear as day. so to say the kid will just forget about it like a small puppy with ADD runnin to its next chew toy, yea i would definately say thats insulting to children. i guess well just have to wait and see to find out what happens to him later in life...
