I'm not sure if this thread will work, as we would could all be in different circles in the same area, but this thread could be interesting to see if there are any bbig differences in the areas as Australia i rather large..

What drug(s), would you estimate are used most commonly in the area you live in?
 
Meth and Weed.

These two substance will be your answer for probably everyone one as the most commonly used substance(s)

maybe mdma thrown in the mix as well. but it will be mostly those two :)
 
^ Hit the nail on the head for me personally. I would say it depends on which circles I hang around in which drugs are most commonly used. Generally it is ice or cannabis, it is a rare occasion I would see a friend or acquaintance and one or both of those drugs not be consumed. Alcohol is also consumed frequently, particularly by the bong heads that I know. G (generally 1,4b) and xanax bars are interchangable depending on availability and general mood and typically used by ice users I know to come down and sometimes smooth out their buzz. Apart from the odd E, which seldom contained MDMA until recently, I know very few people that use any drugs other than these with any regularity.

This discussion has the potential to turn to availability, and it isn't exactly HR. That said, we have allowed numerous threads lately that discuss the social implications of drug use and I am willing to leave this open so long as people don't start talking about whats easy to get and what isn't. Remember this is about which drugs are used in your social circle and not what drugs you can get the most easily and/or get a good price on.
 
i have friends from a lot of different places, not just a group of mates that all do the same thing.
my closest friends take acid and smoke weed. i know a few people that just smoke a little pot, some are only really interested in psychedelics, others shoot smack and some just drink booze. i don't think any of my close friends do meth any more, but i know kids that do, it's just not really a part of my world these days.
most people i know seem to take dexies if they are around, people that wouldn't necessarily take meth or LSD. but there is no common thread, or most obviously popular drug.
i guess i mix in a lot of different circles and have friends from many walks of life. alcohol is common - a lot of people i know drink occasionally, but only a few drink heavily, and i put its popularity down to its social acceptance.

if you're asking what is popular generally, i wouldn't be able to tell you. i can only really relate to my own weird taste in drugs and the experiences of people i know - i wouldn't know what drugs are popular in nightclubs or in the party scene because i don't really participate in that sort of drug taking, nor do many people i know.
 
Meth, but very closely followed with juice(ghb/1,4-b)

Booze and cigarretes is probibly more realistic but I'm assuming you mean illegal drugs, in that case it's Kronic, weed and speed in my circle right now. Would be great to be back into the Pills, LSD and speed scene but I dropped out of that when the pills went sour.

This would no doubt be the case for here in general. In my small circle it's weed and psychedelics though.
 
my usual circle smoke weed mostly and smoke shabu if offered but "hate" it - i.e. don't like the stigma associated with it and won't pay for it or allow anyone leave pipes laying around their house. a few of my mates are into oxys and benzos but they are the minority. pretty much everyone i know loves good dingers :)

^ crack? As in crack cocaine. i know we shouldnt be talking about availability, but I was under the impression that there was no crack in Aus, due to coke being so expensive.

Anyway, bakc when I was overseas it was booze and cocaine.

back with my group, it depends. One group more speed/ice, MDMDa/pills (or whatever passes for it) and occassionally cocaine. the other group, weed, acid, speed/ice, K, pills/MDMA.

Yeah, me and my friends are poly drug users.

I think they use psudoephendrine nose tablets, like sudafed.
Most used drug around me is cannabis, if that counts?
 
Yeah pot, mdma, meth, lsd, and to a lesser extent cocaine and oxys around here

yeah crack cocaine. i have only had it afew occasions, that circle is either cocaine hcl (snort) or crack cocaine. i have never paid for it but its not heaps more priced than good quality coke. the thing with crack rocks is that they last alot longer than you would think.
 
in my very close circle of friends opiates (oxy, ms contin, heroin) is the most popular drug , in my wider social group i would say amphtemines. i wish more of my fiends had the thirst for LSD that i do then i would have better access to it as thats my recreational drug of choice (only for special occasisons that is)
