They don't stock this option at your local Build-A-Bear store.

Authorities on Saturday announced a massive heroin bust in the Bronx, where dealers were moving millions of dollars in dope inside Build-A-Bear dolls.

The drugs were packaged in tiny glassine bags and branded with names like Barack Obama, Swine Flu and Crime 360.

"The agents walked in and there's heroin and all the dime bags and the Build-A-Bears just sitting there," said Erin Mulvey, spokesman for the Drug Enforcement Administration.

State, local and federal law enforcement officers seized 33 pounds of heroin with a street value of about $33 million and arrested 12 people on Friday.

The suspects are waiting to be arraigned.

"It's a huge shock," said Mario Amesqui, 54, who lives in the same building as one of the Riverdale apartments raided on Friday.

"My daughter has one of those toys. I'm very surprised something like that was going on right here and I'm especially surprised it was a Build-A-Bear."

Authorities said the heroin suppliers sliced open the backs of the bears and filled the cuddly toys with the deadly smack.

Authorities estimate the operation sold at least 44 pounds of dope before the bust, which was the culmination of a three month investigation. Mulvey said all the smack was American made.

"We've seen a big increase in heroin use throughout the tri-state area in recent months, especially in the suburbs," she said. Mulvey says many of the drugs found on individuals in recent months came from this operation.

"This is a good opportunity to tell kids that heroin is not a good thing," said Mulvey.

Agents say the dealers moved thousands of square inch dime bags inside the Build-A-Bears every week from their safe house on Carpenter Ave. in the Bronx.

Agents also seized $150,000 in cash, various drug paraphernalia, weapons and incriminating documents at the five homes they raided. The ring leader was identified as Yeffery Alba of 735 Pelham Parkway.

He and 11 other defendants ranging in age from 26 to 39 are charged with criminal possession and conspiracy, and were arraigned on Saturday night.

The create your own teddy bears are staples of malls across the country.

At Build-A-Bear Workshops, kids can make fully customized dolls with their choice of stuffing, stitching, features, clothes and even sounds.

A spokesman from Build-A-Bear headquarters in St. Louis could not be reached for comment.

MMMMM YUMMMMMMYYYYY 8)

hahaha!@!! dude, were gonna get all the kids in the community together, slice open their favorite play toy with a razor knife, dump out it's insides, and say "Hey kids, Heroin is not a good thing"

-Journalists on the scene report that the Officers and Authority figures were scratching their heads in puzzlement over why this made the entire crowd of children burst into tears.-

"Couldn't they understand that Heroin is bad?? Most of these kids are 5 years old now, aren't they old enough to see whats going on?" was heard being said by one of the uniformed Officers on the scene.

Many children were screaming in between choked sobs and tears for the Police to.."stop hurting TEDDY!!" yet the Authorities continued their gruesome duty.

One toddler was spotted crawling toward the powder being poured out of the backs of the bears, and was consequently Tasered 3 times by 2 Officers.

"The child was moving rapidly towards the drugs with intent on stealing or consuming them, we believed" one Officer was quoted saying after the incident.

"We feel that our use of force was not excessive, these are dangerous drugs that need to be kept off the street."

After the event ended, Police Chief Flatfoot was quoted saying .."All in all I feel that we have taken a giant step forward with todays edumacation process."

What exactly were the bears used for? Just to hide the dope while it was in transit? It doesn't make much sense. Sounds like they're using the stuffed bears to sell and otherwise normal(read: boring) story.

I was wondering about the "American made" statement aswell. I highly doubt there was any smack manufactured in North America and have to assume they meant it was cut up and bagged up in America and then being distributed throughout other parts of America.

This isn't just happening in nyc, i,ve seen those stamps and i live in ohio, so i think this is alot bigger of a bust then we know. Dammit this pisses me off, this was some pure shit, nice mellow tar like high, not that speedy cut to shit high, they just fucked the east coast all up!

Someone had to have snitched. How else could the cops ever figured this one out?
I don't even do heroin anymore but it makes me angry to read shit like this. Do the police realize that all they've accomplished is temporarily reduced supply? which means:
-people who didn't get busted can now charge much more money for their dope
-dope is going to be more cut (people will need more $ to get high, so more stealing by addicts)
-now there is an opening for a new player to step up
-and there will probably be violence because new players will be getting into a hostile market.

nothing is accomplished. unless you are a violent bad ass who can move kilos of H, then you have a great opportunity.

Of course there is American made heroin. Papaver somniferum is a widely grown plant in the USA...

prohibition is so shady.

33 pounds of heroin with a street value of about $33 million

Ummmm..... Heroin is a million dollars a pound in the Bronx?

And it's reputed to be (street level) 90%+ pure, so I'm not seeing an issue with it being cut that leads to that type of inflation...

Huh?

Duo busted for selling Acid

http://www.goblueridge.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7124&Itemid=1

Undercover detectives with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests today after they bought LSD from two dealers.

Captain Dee Dee Rominger said 26-year-old Joseph Brandon Michael, of Asheville, and 22-year-old Patricia Elizabeth Diaz-Verson, of Boone, were both charged with three counts of trafficking LSD and one count of conspiracy to traffic LSD. They are being held under a $60,000 bond.

Detectives also confiscated an estimated $10,000 worth of LSD during the bust.

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.

Police always use the most retarded math when figuring out a bust. They never tell the media the wholesale price, they always take the (inflated) street price and multiply it by the volume of drugs to make it sound like they're making a difference.

edit: probably shouldn't say prices in this thread.

But I'd guess police inflated the price of the drugs by around 5-10x (or more) what they are actually cost in the bust

i believe it was 1000 hits. And normally that is alot cheaper than $10,000.
It would be 10000 if people payed $10 a hit all the way up to 1000 hits, which never happens. People rarely even pay 10 for 1 hit.
Cops are full of shit.
my blessings go out these kids.

Well this is definitely a change for 'drug busts'. It really saddens me when i see people been arrested for distributing psychedelic's.. LSD and DMT in particular, as i feel everyone should have the opportunity to experience such an amazing chemical.
